What was your favorite Bridesmaid gift recieved or seen given?

Julie, on January 8, 2012 at 2:16 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 27

I'm looking for good ideas for my gals.

My favorite was from my sister-in-law who gave us all the softest, snuggliest bathrobe! I have used it almost every day for 5 years! :-) It's still as soft and cuddly as the day I got it!

Your turn...TIA!

That's good to hear because I got some soft robes for my ladies. I've never been a bridesmaid before (except for being a JB at my Dad's wedding when I was twelve).

Was a bridesmaid twice and got necklaces each time. So when I got married, I gave my MOH a necklace.

I've only received one gift as a BM and it was a parasol that we used in the wedding ceremony! It made for cute decor Smiley winking I think it got ripped up or something though as I do not have it anymore Smiley sad

Yeah love super soft bathrobes. Last time I got a gift certificate to a spa so I could either get a massage or facial which was really nice.

I'm making my own bridesmaid survial kits. I'm adding a poem and then putting everything that is on the poem in their bags. My older sister gave this to me when I was a BM and I loved it. I'm including flip flops in their bags, so they don't have to wear their heels all night.

I've only been a bridesmaid once and that was for my brothers wedding a few years ago...

I got a small picture frame that says "My Sister... someone to share with, someone to laugh with, someone to love" with a small heart charm with my name and '08 on it (year they were married). I really love it because I finally got a sister! lol

She also gave sterling silver bracelet and a pair of earrings. Smiley smile

I love the massage certificate, but you don't have to give them all the same things! Magazine subscriptions, memberships to a museum in their area, movie/restaurant coupons, a Sephora or Bath/body shop gift card..something they wouldn't buy themselves.

Best gift- $50 giftcard to Best Buy.

Least fav gift- ONE champagne glass... what does one do with ONE glass???

    Jewelry is typical.

I have only been a bridesmaid 3 times.

I want to give mine tank tops that say 'Maid of Honor' and 'Bridesmaid' on them to wear while we are getting ready that morning, and personalized flip flops to wear during the reception. I also like the survival kit idea!

Best - mani-pedi and an engraved (my name) silver compact make-up mirror

side note - Jewelry, I wear it for the wedding, but never wear it again. I once wore my own diamond studs instead of the cubic zirconia ones we were given. Nothing wrong with getting it - I just never got much use from it.

I agree with you, Hayley. I've gotten jewelry every time.....and never worn it again. I'm only having a MOH. I've already gotten her some personalized stationary, note pads, sticky notes, etc., a monogramed bag and I'll be adding in a plush robe and a gift certificate for a spa where she lives.

Hmm.. I was thinking of doing jewelry, should I not do this? Honest opinions are OK.. I don;t want them to have to buy the jewelry for the day

I bought each girl a pandora bracelet with a charm of something that holds meaning to them, such as my sister loves and collects dolphins so I got her this one ....

Edit to add: I also got them bath and body works spa stuff, and am making a day of survival kit Smiley smile

Hey, even I Bought jewelry for my ladies for the wedding.... even though I said I've never worn My pieces again.

I went to a department store around Christmas and shopped there little box sets they have set out on the tables. I had a "pink floyd - Dark side of the Moon theme" going where each lady was their own color accent with their black dress (pink, yellow, green, purple) So I found each of them a pendant necklace with a stone in their color. It wasn't costume jewelry from the Jr. Department, but it wasn't a $200 necklace either.

If you have a "look" that you want for your ladies, then go for the jewelry. If you don't really care what they wear with their dress, then go for something else. I've been in over 6 weddings, and I always get jewelry - never a disappointment - I don't need to ask the bride what she would like me to wear.... I just never use it again.

I just went out yesterday and bought them each Coach wristlets. I really hope they like them. My other option was jewellery but they all have such different tastes so I went with something I thought was classic and timeless. I've never been a bridesmaid so I have no idea what a good gift is.
