Rehearsal dinner favors/gifts

Private User, on July 13, 2013 at 1:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

What are you doing for gifts for your guests at the rehearsal dinner? I was thinking mini champagne bottles, but didn't think it was appropriate for our Pastor, or those who may not drink. Any ideas?

We are not providing our guests any favors or gifts at the rehearsal dinner.

If I had thrown my own rehearsal dinner, I wouldn't have done favors, and I've never gotten a favor at anyone else's rehearsal dinner. (There actually were favors at mine, but my sister-in-law, who threw it, is like that, always the extra mile and the extra detail.) Bring the bridal party gifts definitely, but you don't need to get anything for everyone else.

I was wondering about having some sort of rehearsal dinner gift/favor as well. This is because we have 10 people in our bridal party, and then there will be about 12 other guests at the rehearsal dinner who won't have BP gifts. This includes my oldest brother (who chose not to be a GM), grandparents, parents, and a few of the bridal party's SOs. I am wondering if it would seem weird if half of the guests (the BP) receive a gift, while the other half won't?

Our rehearsal lunch was their gift. I gave our parents the first part of their gift then, but for everyone else the gift/favor was free delicious food.

I would think those that aren't getting BP/parents gifts will understand that you just fed them the day before you're feeding and entertaining them...

We have personalized water bottles and cokes for their hotel rooms, as well as some of the candy that didn't match our candy bar that we placed into gable boxes. Basically the stuff we would have used for "welcome bags" but just couldn't afford for EVERYONE.

Never heard or seen of this.

We won't be but then we aren't having a 'rehearsal' dinner

Dinner is their gift imo. We will be handing out BP & Parent gifts at the dinner but my FMIL is shelling out $XX/plate for food so that is their gift.

I never really thought of this, but I will be giving my BP their gifts at this point and we will be already paying for a large amount of food. If there is money left over in the budget at the end I may consider this.
