DAVID'S BRIDAL IS ABOUT TO MAKE ME GO BRIDEZILLA!!!!

OK...so as many of your know when I went to make my final payment on my dress and pick it up there was a ink stain and the beads on my dress looked like someone had taken velcro to it and pulled it off,and it had a ring around the bust line (obviously it was a display dress), so on that day my moms and cousins stepped in and told the manager there that I was not taking the dressout the store with those imperfections on them, so I as told that they would clean th dress and d a bead check and I could pick it up on the 21st. So I went in today to get my dress and guess what it was still dirty the ink stain was one but I found other little stains on it and the ring round the bust line was not as dark but it was one still there. Needless to say I asked for yet another manager & explained the situation to her. I was very nice and polite and informed her that I Would like the Dress just not one that various people have been trying on. She began to explain that they when the prior said it cont

Cleaned, it was only spot cleaning, because they are not a dry cleaner and they would not clean the entire dress, and I infored her once again that I would not be leavig that store with a dress that had been worn by various people and that on m weddin day would like to have on a dress that is NEW!!! She seemed to have an attitude and snatched the dress up and asked me when was my wedding date, and told me that she would put the information in her office and look at the history on the dress in the moring and give me a call. 1st what history I've never taken the dress out of the store, & 2nd if when she calls me tomorrow and she's not telling me that my dress will be in within 2-whenever weeks there will be nothing further to discuss but my refund. I mean how dare they do something like this. If you are going to sell me a sample dress then I want to pay sample prices...I really do not need this right now...I am totally PISSED the hell OFF...I cried in the store. They should know better!

They need to give you a new dress, simple as that. Unfortunately, since it's David's Bridal, I don't know how effective you'll be. If they fall through again, go to the BBB.

Oh I'm sooo sorry....this confirms what I've been told by people who've worked at david's bridal...the dress you buy there is NEVER actually a new dress. All the dresses are sent out to the stores at the beginning of the season and when you "order" a dress in your size what they actually do is find a store that has the sample in your size and bring it over from there, if none of the stores have any of your size in stock then it's suddenly "discontinued".....Again, this is only what I've "heard" so I can't say with 100% certainty..but that might be the "history" she is referring to and why you aren't getting a brand new dress when you should if you didn't get a sample dress discount....fight the good fight girl, and don't let fear of being seen as a "brideszilla" make you settle for less than you deserve....you have every right to get this fixed!...but whoa I just noticed your date, good thing you have plenty of time!

If you didn't buy a sample dress and they tried to give you a sample dress you were 100% right in what you did. i mean come on you payed full price for that dress not sample price. if it were me i would of treated them the same way they were treating me and been like ok lison to me i did not pay for a smaple dress so don't try to give me a sample dress that isn't going to faly with me only alot less nicer.

So . . . it was my understanding that all of the dresses are (in effect) sample dresses there. I got mine off the rack, and other people had probably tried it on. I was supposed to get a sample discount???

Wow...I just may have to if I'm not happy with the outcome; Laura they thought th girl who smashed th cake was crazy..but ateast I'll have a valid reason..& if that is how they operate then they are a total rip off. Jessica when I put my deposit don I specifically asked the lady who was helping me would I be getting a new dress because the one I tried on has an ink stain..she told me yes they had a brandnew one in he back but land behold when I went to pick it up there was the same ink stain..I totally agree with you that if they would have sold it to me at half the price I would not be complaining..Alym its all in how you feel about the situation i guess..I would have not had problem with my dress if there were not so many things wrong with it.

At pretty much any other store Alym, if you buy the dress that is used as sample and others have tried on, you get it at a discount...this is what "sample sale" is all about...My dress shop took over $1,000 off my dress because I bought the sample off the rack...but David's bridal does not distinguish between samples and anything else because they are ALL samples in a way...but overall their prices are lower so maybe that is reflected there....I think if you find a dress you love that happens to be there and it's in your budget then why not buy it...but I am always hearing these horror stories and it's a shame....a girl and her wedding dress..that should be a LOVE story!!!

LOL...I don't mean to laugh, but they called me yesterday telling me all about their great and wonderful store and invited me to come visit their store. I just sat there and listened saying things like "oh really?", "That is wonderful." Then the man asked me if I would like to book an appointment with them. That's when I began. I told him all about the things I had heard from other brides and that I would not take my dog into a David's Bridal....he hung up. With all the horror stories I've heard on here, and from other brides I know that have used them, I mean to tell the truth, they are really bad. My daughter asked one day if we could go there and look at dresses, and I told her "not in this lifetime". She asked why so I told her. She was like, "oh, well, then we won't go". Smart girl.

I went a few months ago in New Orleans. FH and I were getting ready to move and Mom wanted to be there the first time I tried on dresses. We were just getting ideas, no plans to buy, but I made an appt and everything. It took them 45 min AFTER my appt time to put me in a dressing room and I think they only did it because my mother had started pulling dresses herself as we were being COMPLETELY ignored. Then the lady who was supposed to be helping was NO help at all. She was finishing with another bride at first, but even after the other bride was gone she apparently had more important things to do. It was a horrible experience and I will definately not ever go to a DB again, no matter how inexpensive the dresses are. I'd rather pay a lil more and have the wonderful experience I've always dreamed of.

I had the same kind of experense as Future Mrs. J's. I had a 4pm appointment, so my my MOH and one BM showed up there around 3:45, after standing at the appointment desk for 10min. the girl realized I had an appointment and got my name, told me to find some dresses I liked and an assoc. would be over shortly to help me.... 30 minutes later my MOH went to talk to the manager because no one had come to help us, finally another 15 minutes after that we had an assoc to get us in the room. By that point I was already peeved but my MOH was helping get the dresses on when we realized all the dresses we got (out of my size section) were misplaced and didn't fit. We asked the assoc. if she could she if they had the dresses in my size and she looked at them and said, no we don't...REALLY!!! I was so irrated we just left.

Eeeek!!!! You guys are freaking me out. I got my dress from David's, because my SIL had such a positive experience with them when she got married. When I went to try on dresses everything was great. Great selection. Great customer service. No real complaints. But I was originally told the dress would arrive mid-October. But it arrived in less than a month! Now it's sitting in the store waiting for me to come in for the first fitting. I'm afraid the longer it sits there the more likely they'll be to let other people try it on. Plus I haven't seen it and I don't know if they ordered the right size, style, etc. I'm thinking I should go get it and just keep it at home until the fitting.

Each one is different, it just seems like a lot dont care about their customer service and we are the ones that feel it. I dont recommend them for any alterations at all. They are WAY over priced and that is were a lot of the problems happen.

Oh no Queen, I don't think that once you BUY a dress they let people try it on. It's before you buy it that it was on a rack in a store being pulled out and taken into dressing rooms. I agree that the personal experience at each store will vary greatly because it depends on who is working there that day. I did try on dresses there, hell I tried on dresses EVERYWHERE! haha. my experience was just fine as far as just trying them on. I was shocked to hear about their alteration prices on here, especially considering they're rarely done to perfection and they charge you again when they have to fix what THEY did wrong the first time! I got my dress at a higher end private shop and the seamstress was INCREDIBLY flawless. But even they were less than what I've seen girls pay on here for DB alterations. So unless the seamstress at the DB is the SAME person who did your SIL's so you know they are good, I would recommend having that done elsewhere. I would at least go see it's the right size etc

Well Ladies, I was just informed that my dress has been re-ordered and it should be in Mid-November...I am happy that they fixed the situation..up until this point I have had a good experience with DB, my assoc was nice and we really enjoyed ourselves when trying on the dresses..QueenSybase I would definetly go check on ur dress because I was informed that once my dress came in I would have 7 day to come and get it or they would not be responsible for it. I asked them would they store it until I began alterations and they told me NO, but maybe that is just the store that I went to..I hope everything else from this point on goes smoother..NOW I have to go in and change some things for my girls dresses!!!! Wish me LUCK!!!!

They tried selling me a "sample" dress too. My MOH and I threw a fit and they had another dress made for me...if you go back and its not to your liking make them order you one!!

I had to buy a sample dress because I had a very short time to get the dress. I actually really liked my dress and thought they did a good job of cleaning it (thank goodness....after reading some of your posts) but I did have a HUGE problem with the alteration department. I told them time and time again that the dress was too big in the top (it was a strapless). I also wanted it permantly bustled and the padding taken out of the bust area. When I went in for my final fitting, the padding was still in the dress and it was still too big up top. The bustle was bustled but only temporarily. I told them what was wrong and they told me that was all they could do. They forced me out the door with it. Needless to say, my bra is showing in many of the pictures and the bustle ripped out in 4 of the five places. They did reimburse me for the bustle alterations, but only after I threw a fit. Now I am having trouble with them getting the dress back to me. I don't recommend David's Bridal

................for alterations anyway. I would ahve been better off taking it to my usual alterations lady. I would have then been pleased with my pictures.
