Loved working with Vicky. She is very attentive to making my day very special. Her main concern was me. She takes your budget into consideration. She is very good at talking to you about what your preference of style might be -- and making suggestions of dresses that are most suitable for you. I knew I found my dress as soon as I tried it on.
I was referred to from one of my family members since they got their dress from there so I figure check this place out. When I first walked in I was greeted and had to fill out a form with all my information. Ladies make sure you know your budget and style. The owner Vicki was helpful ,but I had a really hard time understanding her. From previous reviews I've read online they say she had cancer in the mouth so most of the time I just pretended I knew what she was talking about. Other than that they have a beautiful collection of dresses ,but unfortunately I didn't find my dress here.
Vows Bridal is a beautiful place where I purchased my wedding gown. They are honest and upfront on how you can maximize your budget and still have an amazing dress. They work with you no matter how your budget situation is and educate you on how to choose a right dress that fits your style. They have a great choice of selections. I highly recommend them for a more unique choice of style.
I had read some reviews on Yelp about this place and it seemed to be a mixed bag, mostly because of the gruffness of the woman who runs it. When I met Vicky I understood where the reviews were coming from: she had some kind of mouth cancer and is very difficult to understand, and she is incredibly straight forward- she's been doing this 30 years and KNOWS HER STUFF. She knows what will look good on your body type, and she isn't going to pussy foot around it. I had come in with my sister and a page of pictures and dress characteristics I liked, and a page of stuff I didn't like. I had initially planned to go simple with some kind of chiffon dress, no train, etc. She looked at what my bridesmaids were wearing and asked me if I was trying to be less fancy then them, haha. She's very straight forward, but she really knew what she was doing. First she had me try on exactly what I was requesting. Then she had me try on much fancier things that worked well with my body type. Then, the last gown she had me try on (she must have known I'd pick it from the start) had all the characteristics I was initially looking for, only fancier. I had 5 more dress appointments that day (she was my first) and after going to the second one I canceled all the others and went back to Vows. Vicky's assistants were all very helpful and her tailor was great as well. I was working my ass off and rapidly losing weight so they even made sure to get my final fitting done during the week leading up to my wedding to make sure it fit right. I had such a great experience with them - I felt like Vicky and her team all really cared about me and making the dress perfect for my wedding day.
I loved Vows and my dress was amazing! I got one on one treatment everytime I went in. Staff know exactly what they are talking about.
Vows Bridal shop in Honolulu had the best dresses I seen from all the other bridal stores in Honolulu. The only down part is the older sales lady is very rude and after you pay your dress, it seems like they don't care. If you would like to be treated with respect and great customer service do not go here. I also got a pair of shoes from them and the shoes did not fit correctly the older sales lady did not let me exchange it. For all the money I spent at the store you would figure they would let me change the shoes, it was barely used and did not use it outside other than shop. My experience at Vows was very stressful and disappointing. I should've listened to the other reviews and stayed cleared of Vows, but like I mentioned, they had the best Bridal dresses. After I made my final payment for wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses, we were told we could only come on the week days due to the fact weekends are reserved only for NEW customers. So it shows they don't care about customers after paid.I can say they have the dresses but be prepared for older saleslady rudeness and very angry personality. When ever I went in, i did felt rushed.Oh and the bridesmaid dresses are very poorly made and at the wedding one of the dresses had spots on it. The bridesmaid with spots on her dress. Another bridesmaid dress ripped at the reception. The younger sales girls were very nice I have to say but as for the older saleslady she seemed like in a rush and irritated. Had the customer service had been better, 5 stars! Loved my dress though a that's all that mattered.
I had no idea what I was looking for when I began searching for wedding dresses. I went to two other stores before ending up at Vows. The previous stores gave little help to me and I felt like finding a dress was going to be very difficult. The opposite scenario occurred at Vows. As soon as I walked in, an associate was happy to help me. And when she had to take care of a previous customer, I was then given to the store owner, Vicky. Wow was she a wealth of knowledge! You could tell that she really new her stuff and she was very willing to take the time out to help find the gown for my wedding. She asked me my price range and what I was looking for, then she proceeded to help pick out some dresses she thought I would like. I ended up finding my beautiful, stunning wedding dress and did not step foot into another store! Vicky took me in with no appointment and treated me like I was the only bride existing in the world. Thank you to Vicky at Vows for helping me to find the perfect dress for me!
I absolutely adore the ladies at Vow's. They helped me find the perfect dress that didn't break my budget. In fact it came in way under what I expected that I was able to use the savings towards other things for our wedding. The fit on the dress was amazing and everyone could not get over how beautiful I looked in it. I can't say enough positive things about this place!
I seriously hope all Hawaii brides visit this store. If you love "Say Yes to the Dress" you're going to love this store! I knew while looking for THE dress, I wanted to have that "Kleinfeld" experience where the consultants know, based on your body type and frame, what dress would look gorgeous on you.
Vows is a very unassuming store. It doesn't have the glitz or glamour of Kleinfeld's or even Casablanca but it's clean, organized and, most importantly, Vicki and Dera are there!
Vicki and Dera are the heart and soul of this store. They ask you a few questions; wedding locations, day or night wedding, price point and what styles you had in mind, and based on this, they pull 4-6 dresses that they think would be most flattering to your figure and budget. I must have gone in 6 times and each time they pulled a new set of dresses along with the one I originally fell in love with so that I could compare and feel confident with the decision I was about to make. They have an amazing memory and remembered what I originally asked for, the dresses I tried on and what I liked and didn't like.
My wedding dress was perfect and Vicki picked it out for me. It was gorgeous and form flattering, light weight and cool. It was just the perfect dress for my wedding day.
There's no appointment necessary and, even when they're busy, can usually assist you within 15 minutes of your arrival. The store is located on Beretania Street with ample street parking and a free parking lot in the back. Vicki is a little hard to understand but pay close attention because this woman knows what she's talking about!
Best place on the island to get your wedding dress. As soon as I walked into their store I described my dream wedding dress and within minutes they brought out three dresses that I feel in love with! So Vicky brought out a dress that combined all three dresses. It was so easy and so fun to work with Vicky because she knows exactly what she is doing. They even taught me how to walk in my dress and I was fitted perfectly! They don't always answer their phones during business hours or get back to you as soon as you'd like them to but, they are probably just really busy. They had 16 other brides to assist that got married on the same date.
Vows was great! When I initially went in it was just to look, as I was visiting family in Hawaii and my wedding would be in California. I ended up getting my dress there because they had exactly what I wanted and were willing to work with me and my schedule to get alterations done, etc.
I said I was looking for a short-sleeved dress under $1000. The salesgirl suggested that she show me several styles, including strapless, and to keep an open mind, and I said OK. She didn't trail out a bunch of $1000 dresses, actually the highest price tag I saw was $800, which I really appreciated. The first two dresses I tried on had sleeves, but weren't right. The next two were strapless, and the fourth dress was the one! I really liked that they listened to my comments and were also willing to make suggestions. It turns out she was right and my perfect dress was strapless! They ordered the dress in a custom length for me. I wanted the back altered to corset-style, which they also recommended because it was more adjustable and therefore would require fewer fittings. They told me the estimated delivery date and I bought a plane ticket to come back after the dress had been delivered. It arrived when they said it should. When I got to the store, the dress had already been altered to the corset-tie back and fit perfectly. I had not bought shoes since I needed to make sure they were the right height. They had a great pair of shoes there and had them dyed to match the dress in two days so I was able to take them home with me. The ladies at Vows went out of their way to make sure that everything was done when and how I needed it to be.
I thought they did a fantastic job everytime I went in. They definitely knew what they were talking about, but I always felt sort of rushed. Like they wanted to me out of there fast. My gown was beautiful, and they somehow knew I would fall in love with it when I first saw it. Good job Vicky. You got me.
