Matthew is the best and such a pleasure to work with! He is extrememly professional and does a wonderful job at capturing all the moments. I was worried because it started to rain right as we got to our picture location but he was creative and captured some really neat shots that otherwise we would never have! He helped to keep me "calm" during the rain and kept reassuring me that they were going to turn out amazing whether rain or shine - he was dead on there! He was very unobtrusive - as I was going through my photos, I kept saying to myself, "he was there??" That is the one thing I loved most about him because at some weddings, I feel as if the photographers try to dominant every location and become extremely annoying but not the case here at all with Matthew. When you review his portfolio and blog, the pictures say it all - impressive! I highly recommend him - it will be one of the best decisions for your wedding that you can make! :-)

Finding an amazing photographer was at the top of our wedding 'must have' list! Jason and I knew that we would have an incredible wedding day, but wanted to know we could look at photos years later and still remember all the intimate details.

We definitely feel that hiring Matthew was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding. He was amazing! We didn't go with a videographer so we wanted our pictures to really capture the event. Matthew far exceeded our expectations, which were already high given his good reviews. People commented that he was very very good at blending in, which was one of the reasons we chose him, and they were absolutely right. My dad, who is usually annoyed by obnoxious wedding photographers, was amazed and singing Matthew's praises before the reception even started. Matthew very quietly manages to be everywhere at once, and somehow manages to snap amazing pictures even though you didn't realize he was there. Another thing we really appreciated was that he was very flexible, especially since we wanted to do a lot of things that were unconventional. He and his assistant were very easy to work with, and happily agreed to take the photos we asked them to. That being said, Matthew is extremely talented, and sees gorgeous pictures that you would never think of. Most importantly, in the end the pictures were phenomenal. He was remarked upon by many guests both during and after the wedding, and once we saw the pictures, people were stunned. I cannot say enough good things about Matthew, and he comes with my very highest recommendations.

Matthew was amazing to work with from day one! He was very flexible in working with us to create a package that met all our needs and was within our budget. From our engagement session, to the day of the wedding, to the creation of the albums, he was always quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. One of the things that stood out most was Matthew’s ability to focus on the aspects of the wedding that meant the most to my husband and me. Knowing that we were having a traditional Greek ceremony, Matthew made it a priority to research and understand all our customs, so on the day of the wedding he was able to get every single important shot without having to bother us or any family members. All of our guests commented on two things when they viewed our pictures on the website: First was Matthew’s unobtrusiveness, hardly anyone noticed him taking any pictures! Second, was Matthew’s natural artistic talent, it is obvious that Matthew has an amazing eye and does not have to rely on editing software to produce beautiful work. We are so grateful to Matthew for giving us such beautiful reminders of a perfect day and look forward to having him capture many more milestones in the future!

Where to begin? Almost 1 year after our wedding my wife and I continue to be completely mesmerized by our wedding photographs. Matthew and his assistant Candy were everything we could have asked for and more! Matthew Tennison was highly recommended by our caterer www.jdkcatering.com Matthew was also very familiar with our wedding/reception site (Lauxmont Farms) which made our family/couple/wedding party photographs go very smoothly between the wedding and reception (about 45 minutes to get all those shots in).

There were three things we wanted in our wedding photographer. 1) Someone who understood photojournalism (a wedding photojournalist is a person who takes photographs during a wedding using an alternative approach where images are captured spontaneously to emphasize moments and emotion) 2) Someone who would be able to capture the overall fun and originality of our wedding (we had an outdoor self uniting marriage ceremony and the officiates were the brides brothers). 3) We also wanted our wedding to be very colorful and we wanted someone who would be able to capture the vibrant colors on our special day. I am very pleased to say that Matthew Tennison achieved all three with great ease!

Matthew was extremely easy to contact prior to the wedding and after the wedding. Matthew and his assistant were on time and were very prepared the day of the wedding. The quality/resolution of our digital photographs are absolutely incredible!!! We did not purchase a photo album (even though they looked amazing) because it was out of our price range but we did purchase the 800+ digital photos of our special day which were given to us on a flash drive. Matthew didn't miss one moment! In fact I think he captured more moments than we even realized existed!

My wife and I highly recommend Tennison Photography!!!! If you need to eliminate a handful of people from your wedding that you don’t really care about or scrap a very expensive table linen so you may hire a professional photographer we highly recommend that you do so!!!!!!! There is absolutely no comparison between professional photojournalism and your mom and pops digital point and shoot camera! Trust us!!!!

Matthew Tennison was a wonderful photographer. I have pictures hanging in my home and office from the wedding and receive compliments whenever people see them. The pictures are modern and timeless. I also asked my wedding party to walk around a couple of acres of farmland for pictures and Matthew was happy and excited to do so. If I were to do my wedding over, I would definitely rehire Matthew!

The most important part of my wedding planning was to find a photographer to capture the memories of the day forever. Within 3 days of our wedding he had posted 15 of our images on his blog that told our wedding day story beginning to end. That was so awesome to see them while we were on our honeymoon. A couple days later he added more pictures with beautiful background music to create an online slideshow. That was a bonus that he didn't even mention in his contract! He also produced with our videographer, Lavon Films- our 'Engagement Story' which was shown at our reception. It was done with so much class that it seemed like it was produced for television.
Our proof book arrived in less than 4 wks. of our wedding date, and is a beautiful hard-bound keepsake book. Every single one of the 777 images tell a story. There is no rating high enough to give Matthew Tennison's magazine quality work.

Choosing Matthew to photograph our wedding, was the best decision I made in regards to wedding vendor selection, hands down. His talent, professional demeanor, kindness and respect to our families and friends, was enough to leave me (and every guest at our wedding) pleased at the end of the night...and then I saw the pictures he took and was completely blown away. I have received nonstop compliments from friends, friends that photograph for a living, friends of friends, friends of family, and strangers on the caliber of our wedding photography and the caliber of Matthew as a photographer. This isnt meant as a vain comment, but I think every girl wants to feel beautiful on her wedding day and his photos truly made me feel like the most beautiful bride in the world.
He got to our venue early, he scouted out locations to photograph beforehand to save the most amount of time during the day, he captured shots that would have taken most photographers hours to get, in minutes, he had a list printed out of the pictures he knew I wanted in his pocket to whole night to make sure he was catching the guests/moments he knew were special to us. He learned my families/bridal party members names within minutes of meeting them (we had a semi rowdy 25 person bridal party, who he managed kindly and easily), some he had learned and remembered from our conversations beforehand, that meant the most to me. His ability to capture both simple and major moments, that no one would remember if he wasnt there, is remarkable. I will always have the most beautiful memories of our special day, and now I have the most beautiful pictures to go along with my memories. He is easy to reach, easy to talk to, responds to any inquires that same day, and all around wonderful to be around...He was EVERYWHERE the day of my wedding, without being obvious about it, he quietly moved around the wedding/reception, never in the way, snapping hundreds of special pictures, each one better than the next...Every bridesmaid/guest at our wedding that has gotten engaged recently, has asked me for his information, because they too were touched by his photos, his efficiency and by what a wonderful talent he has. The pictures he took will always be my among my most prized posessions. I cannot recommend his services enough to everyone, Matthew Tennison Photography is an absolute must have for your wedding day.

If your photography is one aspect of your wedding/special event with which you want to take no chances, then Matthew is ideal. His work is rock solid, his talent is consistent---you won't have good shots by chance, you'll have them because he intends for them to be so. His professional manner is calm, easygoing, and genial. It's astonishing how he can capture such intimacy in his photography and still be completely unobtrusive---unobtrusive to a point where we didn't even notice he was there! A true professional, and a true artist.

Matthew Tennison was our absolute favorite vendor for our wedding. Our photographs are spectacular and speak for themselves! He was a pleasure to work with all through the planning process, and he was one of the few vendors that took the time to understand our crazy family tree (with both sets of our parents divorced, it's tough to figure out how everyone fits in). He was a calming presence throughout the day - definitely made things a lot easier! He is by no means the cheapest photographer around (nor should he be), but we do feel like we received good value for the money - we had a second professional photographer on the day of, incredible proof books as well as online proofing, and we are also getting an album.

Matthew Tennison is absolutely wonderful to work with. He has a very calming demeanor which is very helpful especially during what i would call one of the most nerve racking experiences. During our group photos Matthew took charge and got our family into all of our respective groups which was very taxing.
