Matt Nichols was wonderful. Working with him up to the date was great and easy. However, our photographer was Melissa Slater. Before the ceremony, we would sometimes have trouble finding her to take pictures! Her assistant said she was "scouting" for places for good shots - something she said she would do a couple days ahead of time. So her assistant ended up taking photos of the bride getting ready.
We booked a gorgeous church with AMAZING gardens... the place she ended up "scouting out" was in the back of the church- the background being the metal siding....
Many of her pictures were crooked, not center, and the background was either metal siding or it looked like a light pole or branch was sticking out of someone's head.
She asked me (the bride) to get into these woodchips full of mud for some pictures, when I expressed some concern that I didn't want to get that dirty before the ceremony, she got upset and stopped taking pictures of the ladies and went straight back to the guys.

90% of the ceremony pictures were lopsided and/or not center. The family photos afterwards weren't bad, but did take a very long time (again, we had to find her)

After the family pictures, the bride and groom had a one-on-one shoot with her. She wanted to go off site immediately, but I begged her to stay on for just a bit to utilize a gorgeous courtyard garden at the church that I've been dying to take pictures in the whole 2 year planning- so she did and they were pretty. After that, she took us to a neighborhood to a gazebo in SOMEONE'S YARD! I have to admit, it was very pretty... but we were VERY uncomfortable with trespassing (which is what we did) into this person's yard! When we expressed this, she just kept saying, "No one is going to kick out a bride and groom." Well... regardless, we were uncomfortable with it. The gazebo was so hard to get on and off of, that she actually fell and split open her chin when she was getting out!

At the reception, her with the DJ worked nicely and we did get some good pictures.

We got all our pictures within a month. So that was nice! And we DID get some good photos. However, she took over 3000 photos and we like MAYBE 200 of them. For the amount of photos she took and stress SHE caused, we were not impressed.

I would recommend Matt Nichols, but I do NOT recommend Melissa Slater. She was very pushy (to the point of uncomfortableness) and the photos were definitely not worth the hassle and stress she added to the day. We are glad we were able to get some good shots, but again, not impressed.

Matt Nichols was everything we could have wanted in a photographer and more. From our first meeting, he was very professional and upfront about everything that we could expect. Our entire wedding party had such a blast with him; his personality and flexibility to work with our group really took the fun to the next level! He also worked extremely well with our other vendors. Everyone who has looked at our photos has commented on how wonderful they are and have asked who our photographer was. Thanks for making our day extra special!

Matt is AMAZING!!! Seriously, we could not be happier with our photos!!! We found Matt and booked him about 10 months before the wedding. My husband and sister are both photographers on the side and extremely picky--so we researched several photographers and finally found Matt! He was very thorough and offers great package options! We just go our pictures back and absolutely LOVE them. They should seriously be in a magazine. I cannot express how happy we are and would recommend Matt in a heart beat to anyone!!! I have heard several comments from friends and family about how great an organized our photographer was the entire day, especially for the formal shots at the church. We had a large wedding party and took pictures all over the plaza area and ended taking formal shots at the church. Matt made it fun, relaxed, and incredibly efficient! He has a great personality and his artistic abilities are off the charts!!! I have several shots that I plan to have enlarged and printed on canvas. And he was so quiet during the ceremony that no one even noticed he was there. My mom said she was hoping that he got some great shots because she didn't even hear or see him at all. We have a million gorgeous shots of the ceremony--again very artistic angles, and could not be more pleased with Matt. Not to mention, the website that our photos are displayed on is very user friendly and easy to share with family and friends. We are SO happy with our entire experience with Matt from start to finish!!!!

Matt is an exceptional photographer in every aspect of the word. Prior to my wedding he made sure he had a good grasp of the timeline I had worked out for the day so he could know exactly how the day was to flow in order to capture everything and still be on time. He also made sure he was aware of any particularly special details that I wanted captured and noted them. He did all of this with the most professional mannerism yet he was so laid back and relaxed; it was comforting to be around that. He made us feel so relaxed and I felt like I didn't have to constantly worry about time and where we were supposed to be next; he was able to get great shots and make sure we were still on track. He has a great eye for photos, what spots would make for great photos and open to suggestions as to what we wanted to do as well. Throughout the entire day Matt constantly checked with us to make sure we were ok, not just pertaining to pictures but to the wedding and the flow of it in general. The day of our wedding, and even after, there were so many people who had such great things to say about Matt and his crew. He was such a joy to be around I am so glad he was able to shoot our wedding photos for us. We can't thank him enough!

From the first time we met until after the wedding, we have had nothing but a positive experience with Matt. The second we met him we knew we wanted him to photograph our special day because of his fun attitude and dedication. Not only is he an amazing photographer, he took charge throughout the day and made the day run as smoothly as possible and made everything so much fun. He was a huge part in making it the best day of our lives. I don't think you could ask for a better photographer.

Matt is amazing!!! He always got back to me with my questions and concerns!! He made our day and pictures perfect!! He even took pictures in the rain!! He has great ideas and makes it fun to take pictures!!! He was so good about taking pictures without us knowing!!! He knew what to do at all times of day: from pictures to cutting the cake to helping with my dress!! We couldn't of asked for a more perfect photographer!!!!!!!!!

Do not look any further you have found the one!! Matt is awesome and loves what he does. The pictures he takes is truely a work of art. I looked high and low to find Matt and booked him about a year before our wedding date. He makes your day personalized and plans out every detail with you to make your day flow smoothly. Matt is not only a photographer, he knows how to bussle a dress for goodness sake. He and his staff went above and beyond to make every moment special and unique. The pictures are put on to CD for the couple, he gives you a choice to purchase them from the website or print them off the CD. Photographs capture the memories that you will have forever so make sure you pick a photographer that you trust because they are all you will have left 50 years from now to bring back the memories of your day.
