We were so happy to have Michael photograph our wedding!!
From our initial meeting to the planning meeting, we felt confident in his professional, creative and laid back style. Michael far exceeded our expectations! Whenever we look at our pictures, it brings out those exact feelings we had in that moment of time. We got more than just beautiful pictures, the emotions captured are priceless. What a true testament to his artistic talent and experience!
Lisa did an amazing job keeping us on schedule, making sure we got all the shots we wanted and wrangling family members together... it made our day very stress free! Michael and Lisa work as a team and they do it so well! Our wedding party felt comfortable, relaxed and was able to enjoy the day while all these moments around us were happening, Michael was able to capture them all. Planning our wedding from out of state, Michael was flexible and willing to work within our schedules to make things happen. We would highly recommend Michael to our family and friends!We were so happy to have Michael photograph our wedding!!

Michael was truly outstanding in every possible way--from our first meeting with him, we appreciated his professionalism, talent, customer-oriented attitude, and excellent reputation. Our wedding planner recommended him highly, and we couldn't have been happier that she did. Also, we noticed that Michael offers a great value for his top-notch service--his pricing was significantly more affordable than the other best-rated Twin Cities photographers, at no sacrifice of quality.
On our wedding day, Michael and his assistant excelled at relaxing the wedding party, honoring our request for more candid than posed shots, and making himself invisible at the wedding and reception. We felt like he was just a member of the party.
And the pictures! The pictures turned out so beautifully my dad burst into tears as soon as he saw them. Michael captured so many moments we didn't even know were happening, so many unexpected patches of light, so many wonderful expressions and interactions. The photos came out classy, glamorous, relaxed, and the opposite of cheesy--everything we wanted.
I offer Michael my very highest recommendation, as well as a huge debt of gratitude. We had to plan our wedding from states away and Michael made it easy for us to get our photo needs met and addressed over email and phone conversations. When our big day arrived any type of pre- wedding jitters melted away for he and his team arrived on time, followed the time line and made sure to get all the shots we had requested! Our results are everything we wanted and we enjoy reliving the moments of the day thru our photos! I can’t say enough about how wonderful Michael is! We got married in June, on the only rainy Saturday. Even though we had to use plan “B” for all our pictures he made the day stress-free. We had so many compliments from our wedding party and guests about how wonderful Michael was. We absolutely love Michael Barnholdt. Wedding photos were one of the most important details for me when I began planning because I wanted to remember our wedding day and how we felt in those moments for the rest of our lives (and love how I looked, of course). We met with a few different photographers but were totally sold when we met Michael. He is so talented and easy to work with. He made everything leading up to the wedding simple and fabulous - from the engagement pictures to the extra-long wedding day. He is a great listener and took my direction, combined it with his expertise, and applied it to every aspect.
On our wedding day, I felt comfortable and relaxed. His style really helped to put the entire wedding party at ease and we had so much fun. We have some great shots of the whole group, not stuffy and formal but exciting and candid. Unlike any photos I've ever seen, completely unique to me & my husband.
And when we went to the lake to take some photos on the dock, heavy clouds rolled in with heavy rain. Complete downpour. Sirens were going off everywhere. I have the most amazing photos that he caught in those moments and even risked the livelyhood of his expensive equipment to make sure he caught the most of it. I'll never forget seeing him completely drenched from head to toe, with a huge smile on his face wiping down his camera so we could keep going. It was the highlight of our photos. Talk about amazing! He went above and beyond and even rocked it out at the reception in wet clothes. Micheal didn't miss a beat. And by the way, when my extended family insisted on their own series of pictures without the bride and groom, Michael stuck to my instructions and was sure to follow the plan we had discussed. He did a great job of balancing the demands of our wedding guests and never missed a beat with the bride and groom.

Michael was absolutely fantastic! He provided a top notch service for a very competitive price. The photographs were stunning - we now have a gallery of wedding photos hung in our house and we have received many compliments about how beautiful they look and how they really capture the moment.

When we reviewed our photos we were pleasantly surprised to see that he had captured moments when we hadn't even realized he was there.
