My daughter just had a destination wedding/reception over the weekend in Monterey. I had contacted Kim two months ago on her availability and she responded right away. She was very helpful in all aspects when planning our event. She had suggestions for make up products, websites to look at for examples and made a flexible schedule for the morning of the wedding that allowed for make up touch ups. Though the majority of our contact was via email, Kim is very personable and very easy to work with. She listens to all comments and concerns. My daughter had a trial run of make up and hair with Kim three weeks before her wedding. I highly recommend doing this because Kim has the opportunity to work with your hair and works with you to achieve your perfect look. We were comfortable with Kim from the beginning, she is so easy to get along with. My daughter had a picture of her gown and a picture of what she wanted her hair to look like, which was one she selected from Kim's gallery. The hairstyle was gorgeous and so was the make up. The morning of the wedding Kim had 3 hair and 5 make up clients. So we didn't have to start super early she had an associate help with the make up. Crystal was wonderful! She has a lot of experience and we all looked fantastic! My daughter was radiant and a vision of beauty and elegance. You would not regret working with Kim. She is very professional and responds to your emails right away, has a lot of experience and knowledge, she loves what she does plus she is very nice. I highly recommend Kim.

If I could give Kim more than 5 stars I would! Every step of the way she was a pleasure to work with. When we met I brought a photo of a hair style I found online that I liked, and gave her a very general idea of what I was thinking of for makeup: something very simple and light; I don't usually wear much makeup and I wanted people to look at me and see me, not just what I was wearing on my face. Kim did an outstanding job, and I felt like a million dollars the whole night. The hair was perfect, the makeup was perfect, and I had a ton of fun getting ready for the ceremony with her, her assistant, and my bridesmaids.

I highly, highly recommend Kim to be a part of your wedding. You will not be disappointed!! :)

I am so very lucky to have known Kim Larson. Thanks to Tehama Golf Club for the recommendation! I got married in Carmel and from someone who is not from there I relied mostly on people's recommendations and picking her was easily one of the best wedding decisions I have ever made! From the trial run to the wedding day itself ~ she was very professional and listened to all my suggestions. Everyone in my bridal party LOVED their hair and make up, they all looked beautiful. To all brides out there I highly recommend her. You won't regret it.

Kim is amazing! From the start she was personable and flexible, very easy to work with. My hair and make up were fabulous. I received so many compliments. I felt and looked beautiful all day. I wish I could have her do my makeup and hair everyday! Kim also worked well with the photographers and florist. I absolutely recommend her to every bride in the area. You will not be disappointed.

I have never felt as beautiful in my life as I did on my wedding day. I attribute this to the work that Kim Larson did on my hair and makeup. I put my full trust in her and it really paid off. I was a little nervous that we had never done a trial run through but it was too difficult to plan since our wedding was a destination wedding and I was rarely in Carmel before the big day. My nerves were calmed a bit when my wedding coordinator at The Highlands Inn said “if Kim is doing your hair and makeup, you have nothing to worry about.” She was right! Kim not only is great at what she does but she has a wonderful, kind, personality which kept my nerves calm before the ceremony. Six other ladies in my wedding party had their makeup done by her coworker, Crystal, who also did a wonderful job. They both were masters at choosing the right color palates for the right skin tone. I am super impressed with Kim Larson and her fellow makeup artist, Crystal. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is planning a big day where you need to look your best.

I'm one of those girls whose hair never held a curl, whose face never looked good in foundation, who rather tie her hair up in a ponytail than fuss with it, and a girl who really disliked having her hair and make up done because it was always a disaster... However, now that has changed!

I could not have been more pleased with Kim as my day of bridal hair and make up stylist! I wish I could travel with Kim with me everyday so that she could do my hair and make up! My wedding was a destination wedding and I worked with everyone through emails and phone calls. Kim made me feel at ease about trusting her with my hair and make up for the day of. Kim is super responsive to e-mails and provided thorough instructions for the day of so I knew how to properly prepare.

We met a few weeks prior to the wedding so that she could see my comfort level of make up for the wedding which I truly truly appreciated. I don't wear make up often and Kim made sure that she did not make me feel uncomfortable with too much make up the day of my wedding. It was great to know that she wanted to get to know my comfort level and I never felt as if the make up she was doing was a generic bridal look. She made sure my make up matched me individually.

On the day of the wedding, Kim showed up on time promptly before daylight did at 6am to do my make up & hair. I had told her that I would like to be done roughly at about 8am to head out for pictures prior to the ceremony. Kim worked her magic and we managed to get ready and out the door faster than I expected. I couldn't believe it was me in the mirror and everyone told me how beautiful my hair and make up was that day.

Our pictures came out perfect and I've never received so many compliments! It's been over a week since our wedding and my mom keeps reminding me how gorgeous I was that day.

I've NEVER liked the way my make up has been done by anyone and always go in knowing that the finished results probably will not be what I want... but after Kim did my hair and make up, it came out better than the pictures and better than I could have possibly imagined.

Also, as an extra bonus, Kim provided me with a little "touch up" kit for the day that included some day of essentials such as powder, hair spray, lipstick and mini lipstick brush. This came in handy right before the ceremony so I could touch up my lipstick for pictures and make sure I kept myself looking fresh. I never once needed the hairspray because Kim had managed to do my hair so firmly that it held all day and the curls or pins never came undone. My friend is getting married next year and wants to use my hair photos as inspiration for her own hair!

I HIGHLY recommend her to any bride looking for their hair & make up for their wedding day! I wouldn't trust anyone else!

Kim provided on-site hair and makeup services for me, my mom and bridal party. I also did a practice run a few weeks before the wedding. Kim is very professional and on-time. She asks the right questions to make sure she knows your hair and makeup preferences and makes everyone feel comfortable along the way. The end result was just beautiful. She provided a touch-up kit for the reception so the makeup looked fresh until the end. I couldn't have been happier with the results and highly recommend Kim for your weddding or special event.

Kim Larson did my hair and make-up for my July 9th, 2011 wedding at the Holly Farm. Since I live out of the country, it could have been difficult to arrange trial appointments, yet the whole process was very smooth. My Mom and I enjoyed a wonderful and calming afternoon amidst the wedding hubbub the Tuesday before the wedding in Kim's serene studio. I thought I had a vision for my appearance for the day and thought I was going to wear my hair down. So that's the style we started with and it looked amazing. Then she encouraged me to also try an up-do to ensure that I was confident in my decision. Thank God! We ended up all falling in love with the up-do. We ended up not having as much time for the make-up element of the consultation, but I was thrilled with Kim's expertise with fake eyelashes. On our wedding day, everything rolled perfectly and was very fun. I loved how all of my bridesmaids' hair styles turned out, my make-up was great, and I received many compliments on how natural and beautiful I looked. Kim was a great part of our day.

I saw the photos posted of her work and I knew Kim was the stylist for my special day. I called Kim and she was very accomodating and understanding. We are on a tight budget and she was so flexible with us. I am too, am a professional makeup artist, and I know the questions to ask,scheduling times, and all the interuptions that can occur. Kim asks all the right questions and understands brides. She is extremely professional and knows what she is doing. I cannot wait to see the fabulous work she will do on my wedding day! I LOVE KIM!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, she duplicated 3 hairstyles for me.... even better than i could have imagined. I NEVER like my hair for formal events (i'm always sacred it looks too prom 98 or something).... but I felt totally at ease with kim. I spelt it out exactly what i wanted and showed her lots of pics. She nailed it not once, not twice, but three different times. I had her do a trial run with my hair down (i LOVED IT!!!), then the night before my wedding she did my hair in a low, asymetrical chignon (also loved). And then on my wedding day, I decided that I wanted my hair up (i am known for changing my mind often!) And she did them most beautiful, soft, not prom like updo.... it was stunning and romantic. My hair is thin and difficult, and she made me look like a movie star!
Not only is she taleted, she is sweet as they come. She is such a pro and i really had such a great time getting to know her. I need to post some pictures so you can see my hair.... honestly, i got about 25 comments on my hair that day! Please look no further for hair people... she is the best there is!!!!!!!!!!!
