When my husband and I started planning for our wedding, we did a lot of research for photographers. We came across Julie and decided it was a great fit for us. We loved the work on her website and she was a sweetheart. When we were in negotiations we informed Julie that we would need 5 hours of her service but it was possible for change because my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. We were not sure what was going to happen but still proceeded with the wedding plans. A few months later(because we are from Jersey) we met Julie for the first time. She brought a few of her wedding albums for us to look through. We were very much pleased with her work and looking forward to have her to capture our special day! As the months got closer to our date, the plans were all coming together but my moms health was not. It was a month and a half before the wedding and my mother informed me that her doctor informed her that she was not well enough to fly on a plane. She was getting very ill and was not able to attend my wedding in Florida. I was beyond devastated. I decided that if my mom was not going to be there, I did not want a big wedding, like planned. The guest list went from 95 to 10. I called every single vendor and explained the situation and re-negotiated prices. Everyone was understanding and accomodating, except for Julie. We payed her a 500.00 deposit and still had 1100.00 to pay. She requested that even though we would only need her for 2 hours instead of 5, she still wanted another 500.00. We understood that technically we were "breaking" the contract but thought that 1000.00 for two hours was ridiculous. We begged her to lower the cost. She threatened to not do the job because it was insulting that we did not want to pay her what she thought was fair. Somehow we got her to do it for 800.00 total. Julie was very nice to us the day of the wedding. She took many pictures and we were very excited to see her work. More importantly I was very anxious to show my mother the pictures since she could not be there. I checked my email all day long for the pictures. Finally they came about three weeks later. I was so happy to see my pictures and showed my mom immediately. She cried and told me how beautiful I looked and wished she could be there. I lost my mother one month and 9 days after my wedding. I just recently started to go through the pictures to put in frames around the house. As take I took a closer look, I realized that out of the 200 hundred pictures she sent me, LITERALLY there was not even 3 good pictures of me and my husband together. I do not know how I missed this when I went through them and showed them to my mother. I guess I was so excited to show her that I did not even notice. All of the pictures were horrible. She told us that she would touch up and photoshop the pictures. It was very apparent that she did not do so. We are both very disappointed. I honestly believe that Julie was not satisfied with the unfortunate situation we were all in and made us suffer through our wedding photos. I would never ever recommend Julie to anyone.

Julie photographed our wedding on the beach on Marco Island, FL and we were thrilled with the results. Beyond simply capturing the event, she brought tremendous creativity to her shots. I am still at times in awe of the beauty of some of her shots. She created a beautiful and artisitic coffee table book for us with matching smaller versions for our parents; each time we look at the book, we are truly able to experience the moment all over again. Julie is busy at times but she has responded to my calls and emails every time we've reached out to her and she was courteous and professional.
