Jenn and Brian were awesome!! They made things happen without me(the bride) every knowing it!! Pictures came out wonderful!! Would highly recommend them!! Very helpful, wonderful ideas and so creative!!!
We had a great time working the Jenn and Brian for our wedding. Jenn handled the photography and Brian did the video. They were on time (Jenn was even a little early) and very organized. When me and the bridesmaids were starting to run late while getting ready I saw Jenn make use of the time by getting shots of my flowers, engagement ring, dress and veil. She did the best she could with the time we had remaining and got shots with me and each bridesmaid before we had to run down to the limo.
Everything was such a blur but I do remember both Jenn and Brian getting shots throughout the night at various moments and even got some shots of me with some old friends I hadn't seen in awhile.
I think the best part was that the next morning Jenn already was able to send us three incredible shots from the ceremony and by that afternoon Brian had posted a montage. This was impressive as we were so excited to see some images from the night before! They even stuck around during the reception to get a couple of shots of us during our "late night snack" (long story). All and all I would highly recommend both Images by Moak and Brian Moak films for any event!!!

Words cannot even express how amazing it was to work with such professional and personable people like Jen and Brian ! The quality of their pictures is above and beyond what I expected, and to this day people still ask me who I chose as a photographer because my pictures look like they came out of a magazine. In my opinion the quality of their work surpasses that of some other photographers who charge nearly twice what we paid for. The pictures all came out beautiful - quite natural looking but touched up in the right area to hide those pesky stress pimples I had !
The weather for both our engagement session and wedding was overcast with gray skies, however, they were able to find color in every single background to make each setting look like a beautiful spring day ! Jenn is quite the trooper, and even had to wear a winter hat, jacket and mittens during our March engagement shoot. Despite the freezing temperatures and wind, she was creative, energetic, and even worked in our two dogs into some photos as well!
In addition to the quality of the photos, Images By Moak proved to be super flexible when booking our engagement photo session (Which was included in our package !). We had to reschedule over 3 times due to the weather which to some photographers might have been a hassle, but not for them ! They truly made my fiance and I feel like our engagement session and wedding were their only planned event for year, and I can't thank them enough for working with our busy schedules and out of town location ! They are very responsive, and replied to every question, concern and e mail within hours too.
For any future bride looking for a photographer, look no further than Images by Moak... the quality of their service and products is unmatched and very reasonably priced considering the package option they have to choose from ! I can honestly say they made my wedding an unforgettable day since I feel like I relive it every time I look at the photos ! It amazes me how they were able to get so many photos yet I didn't notice them almost the entire evening ! They blended in right with the crowd, yet were right there for any random shot I wanted ! They are willing to work with you for any special photo requests, and do so in a personable way so you feel you are talking to a friend, not a professional. They were a huge stress reliever the week of the wedding since they sent a " tip" timesheet for the day of the wedding so I knew the best way to plan my hair and make up appointments accordingly. I am so glad I was able to share one of the most memorable and important days of my life with them, and look forward to sharing the next few milestones with them as well ! These are the photos that will be passed down from generation to generation and I am so thankful I trusted Images by Moak !

I chose Images by Moak becasue my brother and sister-in-law had them as their photographer for their wedding, as did a few friends of ours. Their work was absolutely amazing. I was a little dissapointed with the photos of the groom and groomsman. Brian only took about 5 pictures or them, and they were very uniform, nothing fun like I have seen them do in the past. He didnt even get a picture of the Ring Bearer or Jr. Usher alone or together. I was also a little dissapointed that we didnt get any pictures of me with the Ring Bearer or Jr. Usher or any pictures of the groom with the flower girls (his neices). Come to think of it, they never even took a picture of all of the kids in the wedding together. There definitley seemed to be some tension between Brian and Jen. Overall, the quality of the photos were good.

I'm sorry you are not 110% satisfied Leigh. If you misplaced your shot of the children, I would be happy to send it to you again. I do recall when getting the shots with the children, they, as children often are at weddings, were rambunctious and we did the best we could before running out of time for all the other formal shots with your families and bridal party. Unfortunately your littlest flower girl had left the church with her parents so she was not present for the group shot of all of them, but she was the only one missing. And no, there was no tension. Only two professionals trying to do their job within the limits of an uncontrolled event. When groomsmen show up late, we have to do just the basics because guests begin to show up very soon and groomsmen need to be available to seat them. Also, we find it inappropriate to do 'fun' or goofy shots on the altar - that is usually reserved for after the ceremony at a different location. Unfotunately as I explained to you, timing was a challenge, as was lighting since you married on a Friday night in November and once your bridal party went into cocktail hour (as I recommend them not doing until we got the shots you wanted) if you recall, they did not want to come back out, so you said to pass on any further shots with them. Luckily I pestered you and Aldo enough to come out during the reception, which I do not like to do, but I knew you had no shots of the two of you other than the church altar, which were formal, so I pushed for it knowing that later you would regret not having something more. Also, we stayed an hour overtime at no charge to you because we regretted that you lost so much time due to delayed events which were no fault of yours or ours. The DJ chose to do dance sets instead of formalities and you had a dessert table presentation. I'm sorry that you do not find that we offered adequate enough service to leave a more positive review, but I can assure you, we did our best. I greatly enjoyed working with them. Even my quests commented that you didn't even know they were there. The pictures came out great, it was so hard for me to pick my favorites. I would highly recommend Images By Moak.
The Moaks came recommended to us by several friends, and they did not disappoint. I felt they were some of the most talented photographers in the Albany area, and those they compared to were much more expensive. Their photography packages are great, including an engagement session (with a DVD of the photos for only $100) and a full day of wedding coverage with a DVD of the photos. I really enjoyed the engagement session, since it gave us an opportunity to work with the Moaks before the wedding day. They are really friendly and made my husband and I feel comfortable during the shoot. On the wedding day, they were unobtrusive and professional, and captured everything we'd hoped. We absolutely love how our photos turned out. I would recommend them to anyone in the area, and a friend of mine just booked them too!
Working with Brian and Jennifer was fantastic. We saw their work first-hand at a wedding several years ago and were so impressed that we booked them right away for our own. They choreographed our formal pictures with ease and made the whole process fun and exciting for the entire wedding party. Where they really shine though is in their ability to capture the moments of the ceremony and reception that really count. They have an uncanny ability to be invisible and take pictures that really mean something. I hardly noticed that they were there and yet every moment seems to be captured. All of the pictures were great and they did a fantastic job retouching/finishing them. Their rates are average but their work is exemplary.
I will start off with the good parts of working with Moak Photography. When we were deciding on vendors during the planning process, Jenn Moak was very flexible in working with our schedules to meet with us while we were in town (we do not live in the Albany area, but that's where we were married) to talk with us about different packages we could order and to show us her portfolio. She told us that she was half of a husband and wife team, which made us feel confident that they would take care of all the crucial shots we wanted for the wedding. She talked in great detail about how one of them would focus on posed shots and closeups while the other took pictures from afar and candids, which sounded like everything we wanted from a photographer.
After the wedding, she delivered the disk with all of our wedding images in the time frame promised, and all the pictures they took really were lovely. She clearly spent time touching up photos so that we looked flawless and arranged a beautiful proof book for us, along with giving us the rights to the images on a high-quality DVD.
That was the good part.
The bad part was that even though the photos were lovely, the photographers missed a lot of key shots we would have liked to have. This is because Jenn and her husband Brian spent half the day fighting in public and stepping into other rooms to argue, and missing everything that was going on in my wedding. My family (I was the bride) was up dancing all night long, but there is not a single shot of my parents on the dance floor, or either of my brothers, except for maybe in the background. Not a single photo of my husband's grandfather. They missed the entire portion of the evening where my husband and I were lifted up on chairs because they were apparently in the lobby arguing (which I didn't find out until a staff member from the venue told me). No there are no photos of the two of us or either of our families being lifted on chairs.
Even the wedding party noticed the tension at the very first part of the afternoon when we were taking formal pictures and the photographers were snapping at each other about lenses. As I mentioned, all the pictures they took came out beautifully, but we unfortunately didn't get to do all the fun poses that other couples seemed to be able to do according to their portfolio.
Throughout the night, I had several guests, friends and family come up to me to ask why the photographers were fighting with each other about things that did not have anything to do with my wedding. Jenn Moak also approached me and my groom at one point in the evening while we were talking to friends from out of town and interrupted the conversation by blurting out "you haven't even cut the cake yet and it is time for me to go, so you are going to owe me overtime" in front of our friends. It was completely embarrassing and incredibly unprofessional.
I knew it was truly getting bad when the Maitre'D approached us about the photographers bickering in the lobby and APOLOGIZED to us for ever listing them on their "Preferred Vendors" list.
The last straw of the evening was when we finally did cut the cake (when THEY told us to) and because they were turned around bickering with each other about the best way to take the shot, they MISSED IT, and then asked us to DO IT AGAIN in front of our friends and family. They left the wedding shortly after that. At that point, I was just happy to not have to worry about them anymore, even though they missed a crazy amount of dancing, power slides, dance-offs, and choreographed routines that friends and family had prepared.
Despite the good pricing and high quality photos, I would not recommend Moak Photography. They were the only source of stress in my entire wedding day, and I don't even have all the pictures I'd like to show for it.

Also, I find it interesting how the bride admitted she disregarded my timeline but makes no mention of that here. Brian would like to add that I love working with Jenn and there was no tension. The cake cutting was orchestrated by the venue and the DJ...we simply were the messenger to the bride. At that point the flash did not fire and Jenn yelled over to me (over the loud music) to let me know that the flash wasn't firing so I could fix it. So, 100% fiction that we missed her cake due to arguing. I'm truly surprised by this very long, embellished rant, considering we had no awareness of this until now.

Jennifer and Brian were exceptionally professional and took wonderful pictures. They were a pleasure to work with. They both understood our quirky style and adapted to exactly what we wanted.
We loved working with Brian and Jenn! They are so professional and worth every penny! When I look at the pictures they took, it seems like it never rained at all on our wedding day! Thank you on a superior job well done! Everything we look at the photos, it seems as if I am re-living our wedding day!
Pictures came out well and photographers did a great job staying behind the scenes and didn't get in the way, nor were they overbearing. Tension between partners was evident, which spoiled the mood a bit. Pictures were delivered ASAP.
We were so excited to book Jenn and Brian for our wedding. A friend had recommended them and I always wanted to be able to use them. We were very lucky they were available for January 1st when I booked them in September! Our engagement session was the best way to get to know them and "get our feet wet" in the professional picture world. They were fun and encouraging and open to any ideas. They have a wonderful style of making you feel comfortable and the pictures look natural. We couldn't be happier with the quality and variety of pictures they captured at our wedding. I would highly recommend them to anyone!!
I was recently married this past weekend and I couldn't be happier with Jenn and Brian Moak. They were absolutely wonderful to work with, breaking the tension on this very stressful day. They are very organized, prompt, professional and creative. The two sweetest people anyone could have asked for on their wedding day. Their photo and video package is outstanding and I wish the wedding wasn't over so I could work with them again.
