Junk, they are a complete scam. We cannot get int ouch with that slimy, cross eyed, SOB. They just rip people off. Avoid them at all cost. Think about why would there be really good and really bad experiences rated on this website?

DO NOT USE. They are responsive and helpful until they get your deposit, then they do what ever they feel like. We paid for a wedding package that included two in person consults. When we were supposed to have our first meeting all contact from them ceased. It went from same day replies by email and phone to NEVER. Almost ruined our wedding, we were lucky enough to realize we had been scammed soon enough to get a real DJ who cared about their work and actually shows up! I pitty anyone who uses them, I believe they post reviews to make themselves look good. Steer clear and save both your money and the headache. If you don't believe me check the judgments at the court house and the better business bureau rating.

I was thrilled at the time Kyle took to speak with me about the music that I wanted at my reception and the sound system that I needed for my ceremony. The djs responded to my questions and requests and were great to interact with. I would recommend them to other brides!

This company is run by a bunch of a-holes. They refuse to refund our money even though they did not show up at the reception. Check their Better Business Bureau rating, which is an F. They currently have 10 complaints with the BBB (including mine), and have not responded to any of them. Here is the website:

1st Carolina DJ's did a great job at my wedding. They were very flexible and the whole thing flowed very well.

1st Carolina DJ's did an AMAZING job at our wedding. Kyle and his assistant kept in tune with our guests desire to have a good time. Our venue was not the easiest setup to work with, but he did an excellent job working everything out.

We would hire Kyle again to do the same job...SUPER value for the money!!!

I worked with Kyle Sandlers and he was my personal Dj for my wedding.Over the phone conversations were great. Our meeting two days before the wedding seemed to go very good. I had to the online planner for the wedding that consist of all the music for the ceremony, reception, annoucements, names of bridal party, parents, grandparent, do plays, must, plays and dont plays. It seem to be alittle time consuming but it was suppose to be very beneficial as well. That way the Dj knows exactly what is going on, what to play, when to play, where to play, and why to play it. Everything was typed out. Names of bridal party, parents, grandparents, and even the bride and groom. Well, like I said the meeting went great. I brought my maid of honor with me. Everything was correct on that list. I mean he had a list on his computer and printed out of all the music for the ceremony and reception, all the names of who was in the wedding and their title. Come the day of our wedding, he interupted our cermony vows by trying to play the song before the vows where over with. The preacher asked that there be no photograpghy taking place during the ceremony but he was the only one snapping picuters. He pronouced the flower girl as the ring bearer and the ring bearer as the flower girl. He said that one of the bridesmaid was the mother of the ring bearer. he pronouced my father n law as the oringinal Kelly Miller which was actually me. And our first annoucemnet as husband and wife was wrong because he called us Hunters and our last name is Hunt. He did not play all the songs we requested. We had agreement that he would be there til 10:30pm but he started packing up about 45mins to a hour early. Then asked me if we could call it a wrap. I was very disappointed with the overall service that we were provided with and for the cost. I did not recieve any money back, or any percentage off for a next time service.

Good responsiveness and communication during planning stages. Really great price (booked during a special) plus received a bonus for referring someone who ended up booking them. HOWEVER... night of the event left us disappointed. First of all, DJ arrived about 10 minutes before the start of the event... claimed he'd gotten lost, but the only missed call from him was 12 minutes before the event start time. He was wearing jeans and an oversized polo shirt - not dress pants/dress shirt as was expected. Anytime he spoke in the mic, his voice was muffled and barely audible, leaving most in the crowd going, "What did he say?" They offer the ability to pre-select a song list, which we took quite a lot of time with and carefully chose songs we love and wanted to hear, plenty enough to fill up most if not all of our event time. However, quite a few songs were played that were not on our list. A guest asked if he had the right playlist, and his response was yes, and he'd be getting back to it soon (um, why had he strayed from it at all? the crowd was unresponsive to the ad-libbed songs but got up and excited when the right songs were played, so not sure what he was thinking). Before the event was over, he asked the GROOM what we wanted to do about settling the bill - and the final payment had already been sent a week prior, as required by the contract (and I made sure, the check had cleared the day before the event)! The next day when looking at video of the event we see the assistant drinking wine - not sure if that's considered OK but we found it kind of unprofessional. Overall, I wouldn't recommend because there were too many things that didn't go as they should have.

1st Carolina DJ Service was very flexible with working within our budget. Bobby and Dwight did a wonderfull job at the ceremony!!! The DJ service for the reception was exceptional. They were willing to work with out ever changing event schedule and was willing to accommodate whatever changes that was throwed at them in a very friendly and professional manner. It was very challenging with a wedding of both Vietnamese and American cultures but Bobby managed to pull it off. We highly recommend Bobby and Dwight for any upcoming event you may have.

I loved the website and the ability to choose music. It was a little difficult to navigate the site at first, but overall easy to use. We communicated by email, which was very convenient for me. On the day of the event, they were set up and ready to go, they followed my notes/instructions, played the right music at the right times, etc. (I had asked for minimal announcements from the DJ, and they delivered an unobtrusive presence and let the music keep things moving.) I could not have been happier with how convenient, professional and reasonably priced this service was. I recommend them for any event.

1st Carolina DJ's did a great job at the reception. The only worry I had was I had no contact with anyone for a week or so to set up details, etc. because they were busy with the Presidential election. They were fun and great at announcing the wedding party's names and getting the crowd into it. They are a great value for the cost.

We booked 1st Carolina DJs to be our reception DJ, but on our wedding day they were over an hour late!! Their first excuse was that they had a flat tire. Then the said that there was a major traffic accident and that it was impossible for them to get there on time. So they were setting up while my guests were eating. When we asked for a little bit of a refund because complete services were not rendered, they told us that the traffic accident was an "act of God" and that they were not responsible for a refund. I'm sorry, but they certainly were not flexible nor professional in anyway. They are cheap for a reason. I wouldn't recommend them to ANYONE. Please also take note that the Better Business Bureau has graded this company with an "F" because there have been 11 complaints filed against this company in the last 36 months and they company has refused to respond to anyone. The problems range from Billing issues to Service issues. You might want to check that out before you give these people any of your money!

Would recommend; communicated well before the event; some of the music that I put on my "must play" list wasn't played and some music was played that wasn't on any list...but everyone danced and had a great time.

Very friendly. Easy to work with and very responsive to questions. Able to adjust to last-minute changes in our scheduling.
