How do you
identify your primary photographic style?
My photographic style developed as a combination of photojournalistic and fine art during my years in college. While attending the University of California in Riverside, I majored in fine art, with an emphasis in photography. During this same time period I interned with a high end wedding photography team that specialized in editorial photography which, is a combination of photojournalism and posed images. My style is a comination of editorial and fine art. |
Please describe
any special techniques you offer:
Firefly Portraiture offers full and complete digital retouching and art work. Most of the digital work is done in house but, occasionally more complex work will be outsourced to another professional graphic designer. |
Which lighting
situations do you have experience with?
I specialize in using existing light because, this offers my clients a more complimentary light for all skin tones. But during weddings at night flash is sometimes necessary. |
Do you have a
media preference?
I work in both digital and film. I choose the appropriate tool for the task. |
How many
photographers do you work with?
I am usually the only photographer but, will use an assistant for larger weddings or upon request from client. |
Do you
sometimes book yourself for more than one wedding in a day?
I only book one wedding per day. I accept weddings for Monday through Saturday. |
Do you bring
back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
I do bring back up equiptment to every event. |
Do you charge
hourly or full day?
My packaging system works on an hourly basis. Beginning at 5 hours. |
If hourly, are
you available for shooting overtime? If so, how much do you
charge for overtime?
Over time is also available for $225.00 per hour. |
Do you require
a meal break? If yes, do you require that the wedding party
provide your meal?
It is traditional that the photographer (and assistant) are provided with a meal by the wedding party. I usually eat immediately following the Bride and Groom, so that I can finish before they do and be ready to capture more meaningful images when they are ready. |
How many breaks
do you usually take throughout the day?
I only take a break for meals, typically one. |
Do you charge
for travel?
Forty-five minutes to the location and 45 minutes from the location is included in the package price. So, any travel time over an hour and a half is an additional $$65.00 per half hour. |
How soon after
the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Proofs are availble to view in slide show form at the gallery three weeks after the wedding. At this time, a design layout will also be presented for your album at the end of the slide show. |
In what format
are the initial proofs offered?
The proofs are also available to view and purchase online at collages.net. |
How long can
the couple keep the proofs?
A proof DVD may be used for up to 15 days. |
Do you retain
the copyright for the photos?
Yes, I do retain the copyright. If a couple wants to purchase a cd of their final images they may have a letter that gives them permission to reproduce, but not a transfer of copyright.
|
What kind of
albums do you offer?
Firefly Portraiture offers magzine style albums from Asukabook and Art Leather Albums. |
When will I get
the final book?
The final book will be ready 7 to 8 weeks after the wedding. |
