Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with?
Photojournalism

What do your packages include?
Albums, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Prints, Video Montage

Do you have liability insurance?
Yes

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
We do not heavily post process our images, we like to think they stand on their own as strong images. Yes, we do tone some images and we love black & white!

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
All, this is our 9th year and we've photographed over 300 weddings.

Is your media preference film or digital?
We are 100% digital now but we're toying with the idea of doing some film again!

How many photographers do you work with?
Just the two of us typically, on occasion we'll hire a third shooter.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes, all but one of our collections includes both of us at your wedding. Gry usually spends time with the bride and her maids and Brian will be with the groom and the guys before the ceremony. After that we just do what we've been doing for 9 years but in an unobtrusive almost invisible way.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
No.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
We don't have anyone "on call", I don't think anyone does but our contract guarantees a professional replacement should that happen. In 300+ weddings though we've never missed one!

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We shoot all Nikon professional equipment. Typically 4-5 camera bodies (D3, D700, D300) and complete lenses and flash systems for both photographers.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes, see last question.

Do you charge hourly or full day?
We have photography collections that include our time, images, prints and albums. We routinely customize photography collections for our brides.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
$300 per hour for us, $100 for second shooters, $35 for assistants if we have them with us.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
None.

Do you charge for travel?
Yes, depending on distance from our studio. Some photography collections include travel and lodging.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Usually within 1-2 weeks. You will have your own password protected image gallery to share with your family and friends.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?
See last question.

How long can the client keep the proofs?
The proof prints that come with the collections are yours to keep forever. They are delivered in an archival presentation box for safekeeping.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes.

Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes.

What kind of albums do you offer?
Leather Craftsmen Custom Bookbinding and Album Suites from Cypress Handcrafted Albums.

When will the client get the final album?
Usually 3-6 months after the wedding.
