Susan works at a local event rental company, where she promotes her personal event coordinating business to customers. I hired her for day-of-coordinating services, and for some catering/bartending staffing. I outlined all the dates, times, payment, and duties in emails to her, as she did not have a formal contract. She was delayed in email responses and I often had to follow up my with a call or text in order to get a response from her. We scheduled the entire rehearsal around her, because she could not get off from her rental company job to make the desired rehearsal time. At the rehearsal I had to remind her that she was hired to lead this event. I should have known then that something wasn't right...On the day of the wedding, Susan showed up late and with one less person than she was told to hire. On top of being short-handed, the caterer told me that few staff Susan did bring were not well-trained, causing further delays. As a result of this our dinner was an hour late. People started leaving. Susan did not once come to me to let me know what the delay was. When I approached her to find out why the cocktail hour was now almost 2 hours long, she tried to blame it on the caterer. Susan was very poor at organizing, prioritizing, and communicating. She was visibly flustered the entire night, and on the verge of tears many times. Most of the night she could be found in the kitchen washing dishes. Dishwasher safe dishes... rather than completing all the duties I had hired her for!! She never bothered to prepare our honeymoon suite, wedding favors were sent out so late that many guests had already started to leave. On top of all this, my bridesmaid pointed out to me that Susan could be seen drinking a beer from the kitchen window!!! I had to go inside, in my wedding dress, and tell her it was unacceptable that SHE WAS DRINKING ON THE JOB. She ended up leaving an hour early and did not do any of the clean up that she was paid to complete!!! What a nightmare she was.

I contracted with Susan for staffing for my daughter's wedding. She arrived late, with fewer servers than promised. She became drunk, high, or impaired somehow and was offensive to the guests, inccluding dumping a glass of water on one because Susan didn't like something about that guest. Her language was foul. She was combative when told to leave. Her behavior caused horrid stress and extra work for all of ua. We were not able to comply with our contract with the venue or with the rental company because we did not have suffieient staff to do so. Stay far away from this woman!
