Frequently Asked Questions for Videography
Are you a commercial studio or a home-based business?
We're a home based business.

What types, such as unedited footage or special effects, of videography do you offer?
We shoot with multiple cameras and provide "real-time" editing for the ceremony and special events of the reception.

Describe any special editing services you offer:
We offer growing up and honeymoon photomontages, "love stories" and highlight DVDs.

Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event?
We have small, on camera lights.

How many videographers do you work with?
We're a husband and wife team who have a close knit team of supporters available to back us up. You will always have at least one of us (Lori or Jeff) at your wedding.

Does the client get to meet the videographers before the event?
Yes, we prefer to meet all of our brides and grooms in person. We're happy to meet with you at your home or ours.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes. We have been shooting since 2000 and have never missed a wedding.

Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We never book more the one wedding in a day, and we rarely accept more then one job in a weekend.

Do you have a replacement videographer in case you become unavailable on the event day?
Absolutely. We have several videographers that we have worked with for many years, these are the people we use for our three camera package and we would be able to trust them as a back-up in case of an emergency.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We bring wireless microphones for the groom, officiant, music, and readers. Sony V1U HD cameras, and a small on camera light for each camera.

Do you bring backup equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
We generally have an extra camera available at each shoot.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We generally shoot continuously throughout the day, capturing all of the special events in their entirety and a sampling of the rest of your reception.

Do you charge overtime?
We find that the time included in our packages is generally adequate for most events. We do charge overtime for extra time (by the half hour).

Do you reserve the right to use the video in the future for promotions, contents, etc.?
Yes.

Is the client involved in the editing process? If so, how much input does the client have in editing?
Generally no, we are certainly open to any specific requests and are committed to your happiness and satisfaction with your video.

How long does it take for the client to get the final video?
6 to 8 weeks.

Additional Questions and Answers

Do I really need TWO videographers for the ENTIRE day?
If this is a concern to you, please visit the style section of our website so that you understand our reasons.
In addition to the reasons on that page, it has been our experience that having a second person at the reception is a huge asset to your wedding video. While one is shooting, the second person is charging batteries, switching tapes, holding additional lights, and gathering sound as well as many other tasks. We are very proud of our finished product and do not feel that we could reach our quality level with only one person at the reception.

Will you interview my guests? I love/hate that.
There seems to be no middle ground on the issue of guest interviews. That is why we make a point to ask ahead of time which you prefer.
If you DO want interviews we will set up the second camera with its own microphone and lights. We then invite guests to come to that area as opposed to walking around from table to table. So even if you do ask for interviews, we will do it in an unobtrusive way that also happens to look much better.

Will We receive our Master Tape?
Yes, each of our weddings comes with an HD master.

So what IS my master? I hear it's digital. How do I protect it?
You should think of your "HD digital master tape" in the same way you think of a photographer's negatives. It is the tape you should keep in a safe place and only bring out to make copies of in the future. (Every package receives a digital master at no extra cost.)
