1. Engagement sessions are a great way to connect with your photographer before your wedding day. Since it's unlikely that you've ever worked with a professional photographer, it's only natural that you might feel a bit nervous about having your photograph taken in a public setting. Since your wedding day is not the best time to realize additional pressures, working with your photographer to capture your engagement photographs prior to the wedding allows you both to become comfortable in front of the camera. It will increase the confidence you have in yourselves as well as your photographer’s capabilities. In fact, after the session you'll really begin to look forward to the photographs that will be taken on your wedding day.
2. When meeting with your photographer, be sure to go over a time line of your wedding day. You will want be sure to book the amount of time that you will need to cover all of your day’s events.
3. Keep in mind that the real value is in the image that your photographer can create for you, not in the amount of prints. Anyone can print a photo, but not everyone can capture the perfect moment.
4. Having portraits of everyone that attends your wedding is possible if you speak to your photographer about doing guest table shots. As your going around from table to table thanking your guests for coming, your photographer can group those guests at each table around you so that you have a photo of everyone that attended your special day.
5. Consider booking your photographer as soon as you set you wedding date and location. This will assure you get an excellent photographer before they are booked with another event.
