Mark Gardner Photography is a full service photography studio based in Philadelphia, while traveling the globe documenting weddings and lifestyle portrait sessions. I strive to provide clients with a fun-loving and enjoyable photography experience, not to mention the finest albums and coffee table books.

MGP clients are happy, spontaneous, outgoing people who love- and live- life to the fullest. While they come from many professions, two common traits stand out: an eye for fashion, and a passion for art and the creative process.

As a photographer, I treasure each and every opportunity that I get to spend with great families and their friends on some of the most important days of their lives. I thrive on the energy of the people around me, which also fuels my desire to create amazing images each and every time.

How would you identify your photographic style? Our style is a fun, documentary style coverage, that allows you to go about your celebration knowing the moments with friends and family are being captured spontaneously. For those looking for a more direction, and have more time to get creative, we'll use some fun posing techniques as well as the environment to make some images that suit your personality, whether that be more fashion oriented or a little more edgy, the choice is yours.

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning? We specialize in Black and White, Sepia toning, and other creative digital photographic editing techniques.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations? Our vast experience with most lighting conditions make us the perfect choice for your cathedral or outdoor wedding. Several times each year we cover events that are candle lit, or take place at sunset. Let the MC or DJ turn down the lights once the party starts, as we like to work in environments where we can be creative with our lighting, yet still show the ambiance of the venue.

Is your media preference film or digital? A digital workflow allows us the creative freedom we need to keep control of the images we take as well a timely turnaround for our clients.

How many photographers do you work with? Mark Gardner is the primary photographer, but we work with several photographers in the Mid-Atlantic region and throughout the United States offering wedding coverage for most any destination you choose.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event? Mark is guaranteed to be your primary photographer, unless you choose to hire the studio and use one of our associate photographers.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one wedding in a day? Weekend? Mark is never booked for more than one wedding per day. Normally he photographs one wedding each available weekend, but there are weekends around major holidays that are popular for weddings, in those situations Mark will never more than two weddings on any given weekend.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the wedding day? Yes. I work closely with several photographers that shoot in a very similar style, and more importantly are very well mannered and professional; they would, at a moments notice, be on their way to help me in a situation of injury or act of god where I was not physically able, just as I would for them.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of? Primary Case: containing everything I need to document your wedding day. Backup Case: containing everything I need to document your wedding day in the event my Primary Case is damaged, stolen, or for some reason that something fails to work properly.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction? Yes, I have backups of every single piece of equipment I use.

Do you charge hourly or full day? Mark Gardner Photography prides itself on offering complete wedding coverage. We do have a special price for smaller events should we be available on your date.

If hourly, are you available for shooting overtime? If so, how much do you charge for overtime? Our coverage is designed to end when the DJ or MC announces the end of the night typically with the last dance. Should the event be extended, and extra hourly rate of $300/hr will be collected in cash at the time of the request for additional coverage.

Do you require a meal break? If yes, do you require that the wedding party provide your meal? 95% of our clients provide us a meal during the course of our work day.

How many breaks do you usually take throughout the day? Breaks are very liberal, we will take a break when the opportunity to do so arises.

Do you charge for travel? We charge travel fees on a case by case basis. Destination weddings; actual travel + lodging will be billed.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing? Normally images are ready for viewing within 14 days of the event. We almost always have a few images on our blog within 48 hours of the event.

In what format are the initial proofs offered? Initially images are available for viewing via our website on the proofing galleries. Any proofs are normally delivered within 60 days of the wedding.

How long can the couple keep the proofs? Forever

Do you retain the copyright for the photos? Yes. Mark Gardner retains the copyright of all images he takes. Clients of MGP are authorized to make copies of images for their personal use only.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos? Yes.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the couple? Yes.

Will images be available for viewing on an online gallery? Yes.

What kind of albums do you offer? We offer several styles of albums.

When will I get the final book? Your album will arrive approximately 6 weeks after your final approval of the album design, and select your cover/style choices.

How long does it take to deliver a book? The delivery time of your album is directly affected by your involvement in the process. To insure a timely delivery you must choose your favorite images promptly, clearly address any changes you want made to the initial design, approve the redesign in a prompt manner.
