Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with?
Contemporary, Photojournalism

What do your packages include?
Digital Files

Do you have liability insurance?
Yes

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
I began in weddings shooting all black & white film. And I still love it! Black & white film and hand-made fiber prints are completely timeless and make a priceless heirloom. Black & white film and prints can be added to any package, or can be the primary focus of the photography of your event.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
I love working with natural light, but every wedding is different, and a good photographer must be prepared for ANY lighting situation. I have experience shooting in just about every lighting situation you could image.

Is your media preference film or digital?
Digital and/or black & white film

How many photographers do you work with?
I include a second shooter in every package.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes!

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
I never book more than one wedding in a day, and prefer to shoot only one per weekend when possible.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I have an excellent network of fabulous local photographers who would be willing to help in case of emergency

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Absolutely!

Do you charge hourly or full day?
All of my packages include unlimited hours

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
The only time I find myself taking a break is during the meal, unless there is an extended amount of down-time during the course of the day.

Do you charge for travel?
I do charge mileage or airfare for travel outside of the Boston-area. If the event is more than 2-hours away, I require a hotel stay on the night of the wedding.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Proofs are available online. Proof books, and 4x6 proof prints are also available for order a la carte.

How long can the client keep the proofs?
If you purchase proof books or proof prints, they are yours forever.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
A disc of high-resolution images is included in each package, and includes the right to reprint photos at the lab of your choice

What kind of albums do you offer?
All albums are custom designed. Traditional matted, flush-mounted, and coffee-table style albums are all available.

Tips and Advice
Wedding photography is an investment in the preservation of your memories.  Invest wisely!  Choose a photographer whose work you LOVE, and who you will love working with, and who you feel you can trust.  Always get a contract with your photographer, and any vendor for your wedding.  Ask lots of questions, give them as much information as you can about the event!
