Describe your DJ style:
Professional with a flare for creating fun, upbeat receptions. We don't impose our ideas or agenda on anyone. We never would embarrass you or your guests with inappropriate behavior or canned routines.
It's your day, we will follow your direction and music selections.
Is there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested?
Normally we can't play more than 60 - 65 songs in four hours. We suggest that the bride and groom pick as many songs as they would like but no more than 65, as we won't be able to play them.
What is your usual attire?
We prefer to wear a black tuxedo, but can certainly wear a sport coat and tie, or even casual attire if the reception calls for it.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
We are very flexible about getting music that the bride and groom would like, but didn't see on our online music library. If the couple has the song on a CD or iPod and are nice enough to bring it, that is helpful, but not a requirement.
How many other DJs do you work with?
We have our in house staff of professionals. We do not sub contract other DJs, or send events to other DJ services.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
Our packages for receptions always include up to (6) hours of music, which is (2) hours of cocktail-dinner music, and up to (4) hours of dance music. If you need less time, we can supply whatever you need.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
She can meet them if needed. Normally the owner will cal the bride and groom the week before to confirm all details, including which DJ has been selected for them. We do offer the option to select a specific DJ if they would like.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
We are happy to play any special ethnic music that may be requested by
the bride and groom. Usually they supply it for us, via CDs.
Can the client submit a do-not-play list?
Absolutely. It's part of our standard play list where clients log in. Do NOT
PLAY means just that. DO NOT PLAY. We understand we clients don't care for certain songs.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Our DJ service is inclusive. We supply a (3) way speaker system, lighting package, wireless mic for toasts, and diverse music library via MAC laptops.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
We have an option for a bubble machine or fog machine if desired. The rest of our lighting is included in our fee.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
We always arrive at least 1.5 hours before the start time of the reception.
We need no table or any other special items, as we supply our own.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
No. Our space for standard set up is approxiamately 5' wide by 10' wide.
Most venues can easily meet this, but we can fit into a smaller space if needed.
Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?
We can display a neon sign with our name, but every client has the option to not request this via their wedding planner form. We are very respectful for those that don't want signage at their receptions.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
We are happy to emcee any portion of the reception. Usually we are involved with the introduction of the bridal party for grand entrance, and also introducing the couple on their first dance and other special parent dances. We did some speaking between songs ( unless asked not to ) as needed, but we don't just talk to hear our voice.
How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing?
By using time tested songs, played in a order that most crowds will respond to. What we don't do is beg the guests to come out and dance. That doesn't work. You can't make non-dancers suddenly dancers just because you want them to dance.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We don't take a meal break. Most couples understand that their DJ is there longer than any other wedding vendor, and most do include us with the meal. If they elect not to, that is okay too.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
We don't take breaks.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes. We have back up personnel on call. In (25) years, we have never missed an event due to equipment failure or a DJ not being able to be there.
Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day?
Yes. We can supply music for up to (5) events on any given day.
What is your overtime rate?
$60.00 for 1/2 hour, or $120.00 for a full hour of dance music.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
We include all of the Twin Cities and most suburbs in our base cost. Our travel fees (if needed) are quoted based in the actual distance. Just call or e-mail us with your location, and we will happily give you a qoute.
What is the required deposit to secure your services?
$150.00 We accept all major credit cards or a personal check. We also don't require any additional payment until the end of the event. There is
no need to be prepaid unless the client chooses to do so.
