Personal service from initial consultation all the way to album delivery. 

Jay’s photography career began with a focus on sports action photography and photojournalism news coverage. His work has been published in a variety of national publications including Sports Illustrated, ESPN The Magazine, The Sporting News, and USA Today.

Despite having the privilege of constant travel, meeting and photographing interesting and dynamic figures, and a front-row seat at some of the biggest sporting events in the country, Jay’s work has now taken on a new path, applying that same passion and energy towards documenting the intimate beauty and connections of your wedding day.

Whether it’s the nervous anticipation between a bride and her father before the ceremony, the overwhelming joy of a groom seeing his bride for the first time, or the euphoria and energy of the reception, they are all fleeting and spontaneous moments which Jay gives a life of their own through his hybrid style of documentary coverage combined with artistic, contemportary, natural looking portraiture.

Jay and his wife Amy live in the Chicago suburbs with their son, Jack, and their dog, Otis.

Select images are creatively toned and processed, all album images are fully retouched.

All booked services include a 2nd associate photographer in addition to myself.
 
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yep, my name's on the company, I'm the primary photographer at every event.
 
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Your wedding will be the only event scheduled for that day, occassionaly I will book more than one wedding on the same weekend.
 
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I have a network of several photographers who I can turn to in case I'm unavailable due to an emergency. However I've never missed a wedding.
 
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Absolutely.
 
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Standard collections are based on all day coverage, however depending on the circumstances, I can customize a coverage based on reduced hours.
 
Do you charge for travel?
No travel fees for weddings in the Chicago areas and suburbs.
 
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Copyright for all images is retained by Jay Crihfield Photography, however all collections include a DVD of high resolution images along with a release authorizing the Bride & Groom to make prints for personal use.
 
Will images be available for viewing online?
All images and intial album design is available for viewing in a password protected online gallery
 
When will the client get the final album?
It's really up to you! I provide an initial album design with the proof gallery, once you submit and approve the changes, the book is sent to the printer. Most couples receive their album within about 4-8 weeks from their wedding day.
