Send your Save the Date information 8 to 10 months before the wedding, especially if your wedding date is during the holidays or vacation time. This allows guests the opportunity to make all the plans necessary in advance. Many hotels lock the price of the rooms or hold the block of rooms for a limited period of time.
Wedding invitations should be mailed 8 weeks prior to the wedding to guarantee the "head count" needed for the caterer. This also gives the bride enough time to create table assigments as well as order the number of favors. Make it as stress-free as posible.
