My life in flowers started at only fifteen years old when I got my first job in the local flower shop. From that point on there was rarely a time when I wasn’t working with flowers. I even chose to go to college at UC San Diego partly because there was a flower shop on campus! A true artist at heart, I graduated from UCSD with a B.A. in Theatre and Dance. My life on the stage only encouraged me to become even more creative with my floral art. Today, I continue pursue artistic expression in every form.
While working over twelve years in the floral industry, I cultivated a personal design style that is a mixed of contemporary American and classic European floral design. I established Flowers by Atalanta in 2003 in San Diego. Since then, I have created beautiful wedding flowers for hundreds of brides. I moved my business to the Bay Area in 2006 and had my first daughter. She has motivated me more than ever to be creative and always keeps me on my toes!
My personal motto is "attention to detail" because I believe that the smallest and most personal details of a wedding are the most memorable to the bride and groom, as well as the guests. Whether you are bold and bright or soft and romantic, Flowers by Atalanta produces a distinctive look that is truly you. I look forward to meeting you and making your wedding more beautiful than you ever imagined!

Atalanta's work is incredibly beautiful. I see a lot of flowers in my line of work, but when I walked into the dressing room at Caitlin's wedding and laid eyes on the purple bouquet with the lilac ribbon (the one in the profile pic), I knew I had to find out who the florist was because I could see that here was something entirely unique. Atalanta is excellent at choosing designs that reflect the personalities of her brides and the essence of their weddings, so that the flowers just work. Her artistry in arrangements and attention to detail mean that every aspect of the flowers is perfect, and stays that way all night.

The Process:
First I schedule a consultation with you at my design studio in Historic downtown Vallejo. I will work with you to determine exactly the kind of wedding flowers would best suit your special day. Next, I write up all the details we discussed at the consultation and custom price your wedding. Then, if you are satisfied, you book your wedding date by paying a 30% non-refundable deposit. The day of your wedding, my design team and I will present the beautiful wedding flowers you've always dreamed of.
The Pricing:
Each wedding that Flowers by Atalanta creates is priced based on several factors including time, labor, and delivery. We have a $2500.00 minimum for wedding flowers from May to October. The minimum is $1500.00 from October through April. The Inspiration:
From the embroidery, to the corset and bustle, to every sparkle and pearl, I draw much of my inspiration from the details of the gowns of my brides. I am also very inspired by nature. I enjoy integrating natural objects such as feathers, fruit, rocks and branches into artistic floral arrangements.
