What primary photographic style do you identify with?
Contemporary, Photojournalism
What do your packages include?
Albums, Digital Files, High Resolution Images, Proof CD of All Images
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
There are lots of things that can be done after the wedding to enhance the photos. I enjoy playing some with that as well, to give certain images a particular "feel" - to compliment the mood or moment. Color-correction, black & white, sepia, cross-process, and other fun touches are always included!
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
All lighting conditions come into play with this approach to candid documentary. It is yet another fun aspect to consider when creating a certain feel for a photograph or series of photographs.
Is your media preference film or digital?
digital
How many photographers do you work with?
We always work in teams of 2 (myself and one assistant photographer.) It offers the most thorough coverage, without being obtrusive, and you gain dual perspectives!
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes (In case of some unforeseen emergency, I would locate a suitable replacement for you. This would be extremely unlikely. I'd have to practically be on my death-bed!)
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
NEVER.
All of my energy for you!
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I have colleagues with whom I exchange assisting opportunities and replacement needs as necessary.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
My primary camera and top-mount flash, flash diffuser, back-up camera, flash, and diffuser, and a multitude of batteries and CF cards - as well as a few different lenses to play with.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
ALWAYS!
Do you charge hourly or full day?
I try to limit complications and surprises by providing a few all-encompassing package options from which to choose. They all incorporate a select number of hours (5 or 10). Additional hours may be added to the 10-hour package options for an hourly rate.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
$200/ hour beyond 10 hours. [10 Hours is typically more-than-sufficient to cover the final touches as you are getting ready - right through to the highlights of your reception.]
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
No set "breaks" apply. I find time when appropriate (down time pre-ceremony, or in-between ceremony and reception, for example) to take care of what may need taking care of.
Do you charge for travel?
Only if I need to stay the night somewhere (when out-of-state or far enough away that a drive home that same night isn't realistic).
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
I tell clients 3-6 weeks, to be safe. Usually, they are ready within a few weeks. These are your final images (no physical 'proof' prints.)
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
You receive your final images (fully processed) on DVD. They act as your digital "negatives". They are yours to keep. The images are also uploaded to an online gallery for viewing and ordering for a 6-month period.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
Your digital files are yours to keep until the end of time! You can elect to print as many or few as you wish - in any size or style - through the location/ lab of your choosing. **Please note: The quality of your printed images will be affected based upon the printing services you employ. It is highly recommended that you utilize a professional photo lab (such as Universal Color in New Hope, MN. This is where prints ordered online through my website via LifePics will be derived.) Walgreens, and other non-photo lab auto-printing locations, will result in poorer-quality prints.**
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
The copyright only prevents you from entering these photos into contests or the like, as your own renderings. Otherwise, the copyright release is provided so that you may print photos any way you choose.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes!
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes - for 6 months following the upload.
What kind of albums do you offer?
If you select my complete package option, I include a coffee-table style album.
When will the client get the final album?
It depends on how quickly you want to begin the process, and how much involvement you wish to have in the development of the book. Can be a fairly quick turn-around. Once you provide me with the final 'okay' - I will send it to print!
