Since 2004, I have officiated more than 700 weddings for couples of all faiths and cultures.  The deliverance of these celebrations always touches the hearts and minds of those listening.

I am Rev. Starlene Joyner Burns, a modern day minister who supports marriage equality and can deliver your marriage celebration in a style that fits who you are.  Recently you have seen me standing with the Maryland state governor in support of the Civil Marriage Protection Act for all families.

This means that one day all civil marriages in Maryland will be treated equally in the eyes of the law.  So it does not matter if your ceremony is spiritual, nondenominational, interfaith, or civil; I have been trained to customize ceremonies that express a couple's heart, mind, soul, and spirit.

From the processional to the recessional, I will lend my experience and expertise to you as part of the whole wedding celebration.  My four-year seminary training taught me to embrace all faiths, all people, and all cultures.  And I do this, openly, unconditionally, respectfully, and lovingly.

In 2004, I founded SJB Ministries LLC (an open and affirming ministry) and serve as the minister of matrimony, advisor, and teacher of spiritual growth and development; through meditation, divine healing, visualization, course of study, and affirmations to those struggling in life or wanting a deeper connection with God or their higher-self.

Pre-wedding coaching is available for those living together or apart.   It is not required, but recommended.
