Planning a wedding out of state is not an easy task, doing it over the internet makes the challenge even more arduous. When my fiance, now wife, and I decided to get married we could not think of a more perfect location than CT. where she grew up. When I found Alyson Hickey Photography on Wedding Wire I was impressed by her previous reviews and even more so be her website. There is a certain something her pictures captured. It was more than simply people's faces; it was the expressions they shared and the background textures that completed the image.

My first contact with Alyson was through e-mail. We wrote back and forth and it wasn't until the third of fourth e-mail that we even got to talking about her services. Alyson wanted to get to know me and my fiance. She asked about how we met, what our lives were like, what we did and what we saw in our future. She took the time to get to know us and created a necessary bond to be able to effectively work together.

When we met Alyson, one month before the wedding, we had already shared so much, the connection was instant. And when we saw the engagement shoot photos there was no doubt at all we had chosen the correct photographer.

Alyson and her assistant spent an entire wedding day with us from a brunch, to getting ready, a first look shoot, the ceremony and family shots and the reception. It was a long day, for everyone, but Alyson and Tim caught it all; they even managed to capture some moments we didn't even know they were there for. We received our photos about a month ago and we cannot stop looking at them. Each one captures those great moments from our wedding day. The photos have excellent detail and just the right angle to seize the image. We opted for very few posed photos and could not be happier with the final product.
