They went so above and beyond and I could not be more thrilled with my photos and videos. I get to continue to relive the best day of my life through what David Jeffrey gave me and I’ll be forever thankful for that

David Jeffrey photography did both our photography and videography of our wedding 8/11/23. He helped guide us with a timeline of the day to ensure we had enough time for getting ready photos and videos in addition to the ceremony and reception. He and his colleague captured all the best moments of the day- not only during the ceremony but also the reception. We are so enjoying seeing and looking through all of our photos and videos and these great memories of our special day. I am so glad we hired him!

We opted for a micro-wedding package and paid for a few extra hours, it also came with an engagement shoot. We had two different photographers, one for our engagement shot and one for the actual wedding. I was looking forward to the engagement shoot to get to know the photographer so I’d feel comfortable with the wedding photography. Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible to have the same photographer for both. The photographer was over 30 minutes late to our engagement shoot. When they arrived they said it would be difficult to get some shots because of the time of day and the position of the sun, which would have been good to know while we were scheduling the appointment. Even though most of the shots had to be taken in the shady wooded area of the park the pictures came out really nice, and we did get some good shots of us with the flowers in the park. We discussed that on the day of the wedding the photographer would come to the location where I was getting ready for photos and then move to the location of the wedding.

The day of the wedding the photographer arrived while I was getting my hair and makeup done, and immediately asked me, “okay what are we doing” looking very confused. I asked what they meant, and they said the other photographer we met for the engagement shoot did not give her any information. This caused me a lot of stress and put a damper on the morning. Throughout the day, the situation improved greatly.

We received our photos shortly after Christmas and there were some nice shots, but most of the photos were shot from really far away and most of the photos were landscape and not portrait. That could be my fault for not indicating I wanted a mixture of both but I thought it odd that only 3 or 4 of all the hundreds of shots were taken. Because my wedding was outside I did get a spot of dirt on the bottom of my dress that the photographer said they would edit out, but that didn’t happen.

Overall we did get some really nice photos and the owner was really helpful with taking to us leading up to the wedding. If I could do this all again, I’d probably ensure that having the same photographer for the engagement shoot and wedding shoot was possible to clear up any communication gaps and build more of a relationship. Also, a piece of advice, definitely over-communicate what you want. My lack of experience with photography failed me and I wish I’d known what I had to ask for versus what they would know to do as an experienced wedding photographer. I also didn’t really love the client gallery website they use to store the photos, it’s not very user friendly.

This is just my experience and again, I just wish I knew more about how to prevent these issues, even after all the research I did.. you don’t know what you don’t know.
