WR: Krispy Kreme Favors

Andrene, on July 31, 2011 at 4:54 PM Posted in Planning 1 24

So, I initially planned on doing a Candy Bar for our After Party but FH thought that was a little too much for the low key/casual event. Sooo, I thought we could do Krispy Kreme 2 packs instead. Has anyone done this before? If so, can you tell me how you ordered the donuts? They don't seem to offer this on their website and since we don't have a store here in MA I'm at a loss as to how to do this.

If you don't have a local store then it would sound to me like your donuts wouldn't be fresh baked. I would do something a little more local. How about Dunkin Donuts or a local bakery?

I miss Krispy Kreme, they left Nor Cal. =[

I would definitely look at a local place, so they'll be fresh!

I've only see donuts used as the cake/cupcake, never as a favor.

There is a store in CT (about 84 miles away). Going to call them tomorrow to see if they could do this for me. Maybe with overnight mail they would still be somewhat fresh????

They will def be fresh with overnight shipping. Heck, think how long it takes the boxed Krisy Kremes to arrive in a store. While they don't taste like they came off the KK assembly line, they still are fresh and delicious.

Took a chance and called the store and they were open. The donuts are not that expensive but what would get me is the delivery fee. They said they would need to have someone drive them to me (they won't just mail them). Going to give the store in NY a call and see if I have better luck there.

After reading your post I wasn't really sure how to picture it ... but then I saw how awesome the donut idea looks!! I've never seen this done before. Such an awsome idea.

Thanks Kimi. Keep your fingers crossed that I can find someone who will deliver these to me. Now that the idea has been planted I simply cannot give up on it until I have it for my guests.

Hmm... if you can't find anyone who delivers - most grocery stores carry them in the bakery section (krispie kreme delivers them a few times a week). That could always be a plan B if need be.

I know we have them in our Acme. Do you have Acme?

Another thought, perhaps if you find a store that sells them, you could ask the manager of that store for contact information. I know in Philly, the TastyCake drivery guy sells his stuff to the local Dollar Tree stores. They work like independent contractors almost. Perhaps, a delivery person would sell some or point you in the right direction.

I don't have either of those stores Carole. Will look around to see if any of the 24-7 stores here carry them.

Sorry. Fortunately, Kimi K is on the job. I would think at Giant and Walmart, the price would be less/
