Would you rather... splurge on your ring or your honeymoon?

Kelly, on October 23, 2018 at 11:05 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 221

If you had a little extra cash to do some splurging, what would you rather spend it on? Would you upgrade your honeymoon plans (hello gorgeous villa in Italy) or go big on a gorgeous diamond ring?

Would you rather splurge on your ring or splurge on your honeymoon?

Next Question: Would you rather... get married two months or two years from now?

Ring. Not to be materialistic, but you wear it every day for your whole life. I'd rather buy a good quality ring that'll last a lifetime and then save up for an amazing trip after the wedding. Best of both.

It’s gotta be the ring. The honeymoon is one trip but you wear your ring every day and your children may want it one day too.

For me, the ring isn't really a huge thing. It's nice to look at and serves a reminder, but it doesn't encompass me and FH's entire relationship, our true love does. I'd rather splurge on a honeymoon where we can make life long memories, along with the ones we've already made. This is just my view!!!Smiley heart

    HONEYMOON!

My ring is a moissanite ring from Etsy. I love it, I wouldn't ask for anything different, and it was a few hundred bucks. Material objects are permanent in the sense that they're physical objects, but they just don't have the same permanence as an important memory to me. This is kind of a gloomy way to put it but... if I'm an old woman, and my husband has already died, I would rather be able to look back on great memories than a slightly bigger rock.

I love my ring so I wouldnt change it at all. Our honeymoon is booked for Jamaica so extra money for extra excursions would be nice.

Honeymoon for sure!! Don’t get me wrong, I loooove my ring and I’d want a nice ring if I’m to wear it everyday...but making memories with my FH in a place we’ve never been before is EVERYTHING to me. Ideally you only get one honeymoon with your FH so might as well make it one to remember. You can always upgrade the ring later 🙂

Honeymoon. The honeymoon will create long lasting memories and no matter what my ring will cost it will have the same beautiful memories.

I'd take the trip over the jewelry any day. I agree with PP - an experience is more permanent than an object.

I love traveling so it would be splurging on the honeymoon for me. I love my ring and wouldn't change it for the world. However, I really enjoy the memories we create when we travel!!

Definitely the honeymoon! It would be wonderful to go on a trip someplace. We decided not to go on one after having to pay more for a venue when the first one backed out. Maybe in a couple of years.

Ring but only because we have kids and I know we won't be able to find a sitter to go on a honeymoon.

Honeymoon all the way! I’m not huge on rings so if it’s small, doesn’t damage easily or tarnish quickly, then that’s all i need. Honeymoon however is a great first adventure with my new husband! We really want to travel and it’ll be something to look back on and smile, like look what we did! All the memories! And I always take a bunch of pictures so it’d be nice to have.

Honeymoon! I am in love with my ring, it "fits" me. Not too flashy. The idea of going somewhere I have never been and relaxing with FH, is a better win for me

This is a tough one. You want a nice ring because your planning to wear it for the rest of your life. BUT you want to have an amazing honeymoon with your FH.
