Just Said Yes August 2020

Would Covid 19 affect our wedding on 8/30/2020?

I know it's too soon to tell but it's quite worrying just like most of you guys.

We have booked our officiant, wedding cake, DJ/ MC, photographer and venue already.

Bride's dress has been ordered and my FW will try it on during early June.

I am kinda hesitated to book our makeup/ hair artist (we are sure it's gonna be her) because if our wedding date is rescheduled, there is one more thing to worry about.

We have not ordered groom's suits, flowers and bouquets, did not attend private dance lessons, have not bought wedding rings yet, did not prepare escort card and did not take engagement photos yet. Which thing should we be doing first?

If Covid 19 somehow is not contained until August, is it a hassle to reschedule venue, officiant, DJ/ MC and venue all at once??? They should understand right? Oh our guests (most of them live nearby) hopefully will be able to make it on the rescheduled day too.

It sucks in general. Stay safe guys.

I hope by then things will be normal. At least I hope the bans on gathering and traveling will be lifted by then.

I think by then things should be ok. Of course it doesn’t hurt though to reassure yourself by seeing what your options are if things needed to be cancelled and postponed

It is unfortunately too soon to tell what August is going to look like. Right now, I'd say, try not to worry, keep your lines of communication open, and keep an eye on the news.

You might want to research backups on the off chance you do have to move things. I know it's frustrating, and I'm sorry.

Hi Andrew! It sounds like most couples with August weddings are waiting a few more weeks and monitoring the situation.

Also we've started gathering resources in our COVID-19 Wedding Support Central, and I've seen a lot of August couples connecting in this discussion: i need you, August 2020 Brides!

I think its naive to assume anything at this point. I understand we must keep hope, but we must also be realistic and prepare for the worst case scenario (postponement.) I am right here with you, except I am having to sort this out sooner.

Our wedding is planned for June 13, 2020 and while that seems far enough out to not have to postpone - with all the uncertainty and information rapidly changing on a daily basis, I can't help but be overwhelmed with stress and anxiety. I've already had to cancel by bridal shower and am sure my bach is out of the question at this point too.

Here in CA, we have a "Shelter in Place" ordinance in effect through April 19th with the possibility of that extending to May if our situation here does not improve. Our venue has had to cancel and postpone weddings that were planned through April. My heart ACHES for those couples.

We are hoping late April will offer more clarity for the future of 2020, however, what everyone needs to understand (myself included) is that even if things "calm down" soon, it doesn't mean people will be out of danger while in close proximity to one another. We never expected to have to make such a heartbreaking decision, however, it is not nearly as heartbreaking as the idea of putting our loved ones at risk.

take some time to decide what is best for you, but understand that there are many other couples debating the same and dates will become less and less available.
