Not sure. Maybe his? He was married once before and it didn't end well. We get along great, but there are times that they can be overly traditional, in my opinion. I think I provided a new perspective when I came around (and I don't just mean culturally)...his mom has already made a song recommendation for our first dance.

My parents are open to all sorts of things. They haven't always been, but they are now and I appreciate that. They're supportive of any route we choose to take, even if we decide to elope. I love it.

My MIL. She inserted her opinion when it was not asked for. My mom only gave hers when requested.

Neither, but my grandmother has been pretty opinionated... she's only paying for the "cake" and she told me we could choose whatever we wanted. Well, FH and I are not big cake people so we decided to get apple cider donuts since they are both our favorite (and a couple other flavors). Needless to say, she made a hissy fit, she said donuts were not going to be enough (hello, we can order more donuts!) and guests would be disappointed they wouldn't get a slice of cake... I think she wanted to buy a lavish large cake so she could say "look guys, this is what I bought!". She's done stuff like that in the past... Anyways, we compromised and we're getting donuts and a small cake to cut.

His mom is way more opinionated but not in a bad way. She’s my best friend so I actually love how involved she is

Neither of them really... so far at least. My mom can be very opinionated, so I am hoping this doesn’t happen as we get closer.

Neither have gone too crazy. My parents made some comments about the location being far and my food choice being interesting while his have gone overboard with the guest list. Neither have tried to take the reigns on the wedding though. We're paying for 75% of it.

Neither of our parents are vocal on our decisions except when they somehow tricked us out our destination elopement even though they were still invited.

Both of our parents are incredibly excited to participate in the planning, and they are both very easy to have involved. My FH's mom is definitely more opinionated, but she is the wedding coordinator for her Church, so she does have experience that I value. I welcome her input.

His dad couldn't care less, but his mom is VERY opinionated. My parents both care a little, my mom more so than my dad.

Definitely mine. My mom wants a very traditional wedding and let’s me know every time I tell her what we’ve chosen.

His mom, in a supportive way. My parents aren't really involved, when they found out we were doing a small wedding to keep it intimate, they kind of checked out with the support or interest.

My mom! My dad and my future in laws are really laid back. As long as we're doing things for us, they dont really have any opinions on anything.
