Whose name goes first on the invitation? Bride or Groom?

I think it is always bride.

I did his name first on the STDs because almost all of them are going to his family. The more formal invitations, my name will likely be first.

Typically the bride, however it also can depend on who's hosting the wedding. If the grooms parents happen to be paying the invite could read grooms parents request the honor of your presence at the wedding of their son to bride daughter of so and so.

For the STDs, I put our names in the same order as the template we used. It had me put grooms name first. For the invites, my parents are hosting, so my name went first. I think typically the brides name does go first on the invites unless only the grooms family is hosting.

Bride's name first on invitations. For our STDs, I actually put FH's name first because he was on the left in the photo and I just thought it looked better to have the order of our names match the order of the photo.

Brides name first. UNLESS the groom is military. (and I also believe this is true if his education is higher than her's). Then its his rank, name then her name. (and I out rank my DH in the degree department

My DH is retired Air Force, but we listed my name first on the invites.

I think I read that the bride goes first on invitations but after marriage the husband's name goes first on everything.

I put my name first on everything but when my sister got married she put his name first because her name is Erin and his is Tomer and she didn't want it to be "et" lol

It's traditionally the bride because historically the brides family pays. So it goes..."Mr & Mrs So an So invite you to witness the marriage of their daughter Jill Ann to Jack Smith."

FH and I are paying for the wedding ourselves and I hate the assumption that goes with the bride's name going first..that the wedding is always the bride's thing so for our invites, FH's name will go first....especially since he's the one that wanted the wedding.

What if the bride and groom are both military?

Him & I paid for everything. More so him, because he has a higher income. But our invites had my name first and then his.

Ladies first

We're mostly paying for the wedding ourselves so I couldn't even tell you what order we did it in.. I think mine first honestly, but I think that's because the template had the bride first!

I'm pretty sure it's bride, but on my FH's cousin's wedding invitations the groom's name went first

On our save the Dates we did his name first but on our official invites my name is going first

Normally it is the bride's name first.
