Is it good to have a locked card box? I'm worried about kids getting into the box or venue staff. Will it offend guests?? Opinions please

Hi Everyone! Some guests will bring gift card, cash or a wedding card... Would it be best to have a suite case, mail box, a painted shoe box or a bird cage? Or do I even need one? Thanks!
