Who's hosting? Who's paying for the wedding?

Traditionally, the bride's parents used to host the whole wedding and foot the bill. This tradition has gone by the wayside in recent years and more couples are paying for their own weddings. Who's paying for your wedding? Your parents? You and your fiancé(e)? Or are several people chipping in?...

Who's paying for your wedding? Your parents? You and your fiancé(e)? Or are several people chipping in?

We are paying for everything, minus the rehearsal dinner which his FFIL insists on paying for, even though we have tried to turn him down.

FH and I are. I love my parents but I'd be more likely to pay for one of their weddings than them for mine LOL

My dad and stepmom are paying for the catering, my stepdad bought my dress, and Mom and I are doing the rest.

    70% my parents
    20% me and FH
    10% his parents

We are very thankful for our parents’ help! Luckily they also aren’t overbearing and enjoy just being part of the process

We paid (9.28.2019) for everything except a few odds and ends my parents and grandparents chipped in for.

We are paying for the entire thing. Both of our parents have offered to chip in what they can afford but we are playing on nothing that way whatever we do get is a bonus!

My mom offered to pay for the whole wedding lol but I told her we'd be paying portions. I am pretty sure my parents will be footing a large portion and my fiance and I probably around $5-6k each? Not sure about his step dad and mom although they said they'd like to help out and to just let them know. Lucky to have families that can help, if I didn't have their help, I'd be happy with a small intimate wedding with what we can afford.

My FH and I put our budget at a figure that we said, "If push came to shove, we could pay for this whole thing tomorrow by ourselves," and we're mostly sticking to that plan for paying -- plan for nothing, be happy for whatever we get. FMIL has offered to host the rehearsal dinner, and my parents (divorced) have both said that they will contribute.

My guess is that my mother will wind up paying for my dress and photography, because I would be willing to cut budget corners and I'm her first (and looking more and more likely like only) child getting married, so she has more stars in her eyes than I do. My father will probably make a generic wedding donation of about 5-10% of costs that we can put to whatever. We'll cover the rest.

Each set of parents contributed 40% to the budget and my husband and I each contributed 10%. We are very lucky our families were so generous.

We're paying for our wedding mostly! But we've had some help along the way, which is much appreciated.

My parents are footing the bill for our venue, and we are paying for the photographer and possibly the DJ!
