Who is growing out their hair for their wedding?

Lynnie, on January 12, 2016 at 3:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 59

Anyone growing their hair long for their wedding? I'm still kind of torn on it. I want beautiful long curled hair for my wedding, but I also know that I'm picturing hair that I just don't have Smiley smile

I think this is just the on-going internal struggle of me wanting long hair but also realizing I look much better with shorter hair grrr

Any tips from those who did? Or lack or regrets from those who didn't?

Pic: Hair inspiration, what my hair will actually probably look like Smiley smile

My wedding date isn't set yet, so I don't know if I'm growing my hair out for mine or not. But I am growing it out for a wedding I'm in this September and I hate it at the stage it's at right now (just at my shoulders) especially since it's winter, and it's static city USA 24/7.

ETA: Mine has been growing fast since I started taking a multivitamin with Biotin in it.

I'm in the process of growing mine out. I'm not sure if I will stick with it or if I will make it to shoulder length and chop it all off again. The struggle is real!

I am trying to grow mine out, as it was cut really short when FH propsed. But, it won't be "long" by any means. My hair looks better short as well, since it is very fine. I'm considering a halo or something similar to add a little bit of length (without looking totally unlike myself) but am nervous to spend the money on a halo if they don't work with fine hair.

I usually have long hair and I refuse to cut mine any more than just getting a trim off the ends for the wedding. Mine is almost past my bra line currently! Try taking biotin if you want your hair to grow faster and healthy..

I am! It's pretty long now so we'll see how long it is a year from now. Maybe too long...

Usually I grow my hair long then get bored and chop it to just above my shoulders then I keep it like that until I miss my long hair and then I repeat the cycle. Not chopping it for a year will be a struggle, but I know I want long hair at the wedding so I have more options.

Growing mine a bit on the advice of my stylist so there will be more to work with for an updo. It's not super short now...right about shoulder length. I also have the same struggle with wanting long hair, it just doesn't work for me.

I grew mine out. Actually, I was dead set on getting my hair trimmed right before the wedding and keeping it short like I've had it off and on for a few years. I wasn't able to get an appointment before my bridal portraits and figured out an up-do that would work in its weird transitional state. I ended up loving that up-do so much that I kept my hair long for the wedding and have decided since that I prefer it longer (shoulder length) as opposed to shorter (a little above chin length).

I grew mine out as well. It took forever (two years) and we were doing the glaze on the bar top a week before the wedding and I got some in my hair and almost cried thinking I would have to cut it. Luckily I was able to get it out w/o cutting.

Coming from a stylist..there is no miracle to growing your hair out (unfortunately) I usually keep my hair very short but it's pretty long right now..however, it's very thin..so I will be putting extensions in for the wedding..also contemplating on doing my own hair for my wedding Smiley smile

I grew mine out, I also chopped it right after the honeymoon. But I also had in a few extensions just to make it thicker. And it helped the curls stay longer. I loved my hair!

I'm growing it out but I don't really want to lol. I used to love having long hair but now it's so boring to me and I never know what to do with it when I don't have a particular style. I don't know how I will want to wear my hair yet for my wedding but I figured it's safer to grow it out than to chop it off and wish I had more hair, and extensions aren't in the budget. Plus my hair could be wicked long by then and that could be pretty cool lol.

I had long hair for so long and went crazy and chopped most of it off. FMIL almost had a panic attack thinking about the wedding .. Oops! If all else fails I was thinking of getting clip in extensions, that could be a thought for you as well. Not only for length but volume wise a few extensions could work wonders.

LMAC - I was so tired of FH rolling over my hair in the middle of the night haha I feel your pain!

Me! I've only gotten a couple of haircuts since he proposed last March. I had donated my hair and chopped it to my chin the previous April, and my avatar is from the day after the proposal with a few months of letting it grow out and maintaining at my shoulders. This is my current length, and I'm just going to get a trim before the wedding to clean it up.
