Who else is not having a bachelorette party?

Private User, on April 11, 2013 at 6:00 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 36

To each their own. It's fine if you are having one or if your FH is having a party. I just dont think it's right for us. If your together there is no reason to celebrate your last night free. It's silly.

But then again, I'm a 23 year old mom of three. FH is 29 years old, and has had his time to "do stupid things". I'm glad I don't have to worry about him, and he doesn't have to worry about me. No party, no clubs, no drinking and NO strippers!

Is any one else NOT having a party?

My FH is having a guy's white water rafting trip with his groomsmen.

I am not having a party. I'm just not into celebrating my "last night of freedom." I'd rather stay in and hang out with my future hubby. I am having a bridal shower though.

FH is having a stag - they are going away for the weekend and will just get pissed and probably dress as eijits. And think they might do paint balling as well. The usually stag do thing

I'm not really - might just go for cocktails with some friends at some point and prob just get a takeaway.

Both not really 'last night of freedom' but well FH really wants a stag do so well I might join in.

My FH and I are both having bachelor/bachelorette parties, but we aren't really considering it a "last night out". It's more just a time to get together with our friends...nothing crazy. No strippers. Just a fun night out with friends. We love our time together but everyone needs independence.

I can understand though why you are choosing not to! To each their own! Maybe you and FH could plan a date night out together, just the two of you!

I don't know that I will do the typical crazy bachelorette party. I am not a crazy, party girl. I would like to do a girls evening, like a wine and design (basically a party where you all paint a picture and drink), followed by dinner and drinks! No clubs or strippers, or all that craziness!!

I don't think I'm having one. My MOH doesn't drink, my sisters are teenagers, so that leaves me with one person who would want to go out. FH doesn't want to go out to the bars, he is planning a trip to the mountains on horseback with his groomsmen. I was thinking since my entire family is coming out for the wedding, we would all go out together the night before the rehearsal dinner. Last summer I witnessed so many bachelorette parties, that actually looked really embarrassing. A bunch of drunk girls dressed up in penis paraphernalia? Not for me, no thanks.

We just did a movie night for the girls (we watched "Bridesmaids", what else?) and the guys went to shoot pool. The girls had a nice potluck dinner before the movie and we sampled the weddng wine selection and made a group decision.

There won't be a true bachelor/bachelorette party - but we'll all go to "Theatro Zinzanni", which is ridiculous fun! Dinner theater with acrobatics and some cross dressing that gets stronger and stronger as the night goes on. And they include audience members in the show ... guess who will be picked on???

But we are all around 40 years old; so way past the drinking and partying stages.

    I am having a shower.

We are both having parties.. but neither of us are looking at that as our "last nights" out.. mine is next weekend and I am just SO excited to spend time with just my closest girlfriends. We're all pretty spread apart now, so I am looking forward (and am totally flattered) to having them all get together without all the hustle and bustle of the wedding day! I'm 24 and FH and I have been together for over 7 years.. we totally trust each other.. nothing terribly wild will happen.. just drinking/hanging out/letting loose with friends before the big day! Smiley smile My girls and I are going wine tasting and out dancing and FH and his friends will be playing computer games and going on a brewery tour the next day.. it's so us!

We are both having parties as we are moving a couple thousand miles away from our friends and family after the wedding. So it isnt really a last fling for FH and I, as it is for us and our friends (or at least, not all together and not as often). We aren't doing anything tasteless like having strippers or last flings or anything, just going on trips.

I don't think I'm having one. I don't really want any sort of bachelorette party... and I'm not into the idea of bar hopping and drinking all night.

2 beers and I'm set. lol. I said, if anything, I'd like just dinner with my bridesmaids and maybe a few friends. Nothing crazy.

I think FH and his guys are going to go out and play pool and have a few drinks. Which is exactly how they spend their free time anyway. lol.

We had a couple of joint bachelorette parties. One involved dinner and arcade games at Dave & Buster's, and one was to a traditional Korean bathhouse. Neither involved strippers, unless you count the traditional Korean grandmothers in the pool. LOL

For the record you can have a bachelor/ette party without it being that typical girls gone wild/men in strip clubs. The party is what you decide it is.

For me, most likely I wont have one since everyone is OOT. If it does end up happening, it's gonna be moreso just let's get drunk at home, eat munchies, be girls & sleep over type of thing. No biggie. While FH friends have their own dirty ideas (which will be refused of they're out of the WP) FH himself wants to just put together a gaming night, xbox, drinks, food. Or a Dave & busters night (those who dont know what it is, arcade for adults).
