We met 8 years ago in a bar in the middle of the city.
It was the summer between my 1st and 2nd year at university, I was 20 (I took a year out before going to uni) He was 22 wearing a 3 piece suit (I have many weaknesses and men in three piece suits are one of them) Anyway he and his friends came over to me and mine and were attempting to chat us up which didn't go down to well as I was the only single one. But he did manage to get my number and I thought nothing of it.
Amazingly he did call. We became very flirty friends over that summer.
He was not my type at all - cocky, self assured, a ladies man and a player - though he was very up front about it. But he was at heart a lovely guy we were friends. I was not his type either - not massively into make up or that, much rather a cup of tea than booze, slightly old fashioned and not taken in by his 'charms' at all
At the end of the summer we became friends who kissed - a lot - but that was it. I went back to uni and we stayed in touch and saw each other when I was home (he was working and had already graduated)
That February he turned up at my door over having driven 6 hours to see me.
Basically he gave me an ultimatum - either we got together then and there or we stopped what it was we were doing and were nothing.
I will admit to not knowing but that night we went further than we ever had before but he stopped us saying he 'hadn't come 6 hours for a bit of hows yours father' and I would regret it if we did and I meant more than that to him (I'm slightly old fashioned about sex and was a virgin)
Next morning I made him breakfast and said that he better get use to having a girl friend
The next 2 years were hard with me at uni and him back home but we did it. When I graduated I did my training in the city he was living in (about half hour from our home city) we lived there for a few years and then moved back to our home city.
And that has been that.
7 years later we are getting married, are on our 2nd house, have a dog called Kat.
Not bad for people who weren't each other's types
I have an unhealthy obsession with weddings, ya'll. It took me months to decide on a theme and location. I want to live vicariously through you guys and see your venue and hear about your theme! I was so indecisive, I changed my wedding from a...

Originally I was having my dress made. But talking to her now that I'm pregnant and will be big at the wedding the dress doesn't seem like a viable option (still having it made the cut style and colour mean it will just be my go to dress for...
