Who do you feed??

Lauren, on October 21, 2016 at 3:59 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 28

So I know I have to feed my photographer (it's in the contract) but do you feed your dj? I can't think of any additional vendors. vendorsI have to check with my venue and see if they do something like a box lunch for vendors but did most of your venues give that option?

    Feed everyone!!!

Please avoid boxed lunches... check with your caterer - most give a discount on vendor meals. Feed them the same as your guest.

Yes you feed the DJ or band. It's usually in their contract. Our venue charges $25 for each vendor meal and I don't think it's in a box?? It's similar to what everyone else is eating I think

Yes djs usually get food. And boxed lunch??? They get the same meals as the guests. Most venues and caterers offer vendors a discounted meal

Working at a wedding venue, I can assure you, vendors do NOT get boxed lunches. They get a meal just as your guests do, at either half the price of the PP or for the price of the children's meal-option.

So, for example, if your meal cost was $110pp, the vendor meal would be $55pp.

I would speak with your caterer and/or venue (if the venue has its own catering/banquet kitchen).

Ask anyone who is working throughout the entire ceremony and reception! This could be your wedding planner, photographer, videographer, dj/band, etc. It never hurts to ask Smiley smile

I'd definitely be prepared to feed everyone, even though some MIGHT turn it down.

DH and I dj every now and again, and he rarely eats when he's working. I always do.

Thank you guys! I've been hearing different things. My co-worker just had the caterer make boxed meals (don't know what was in them). I just emailed my venue to ask the coordinator!

My photog, dj, and coordinator all got fed. I did not reserve a seat for them (which was probably my bad). The dj and his assistant just ate at the sound booth anyway.

I'm feeding mine, I appreciate all the work they're doing and want them to see that. Also I'm pretty sure if I had to dj a party on an empty stomach, I'd get hangry reeeal quick

Another yes to feeding your vendors. Our DJ ate at his booth, but the photographer was given a seat at a table. She asked to sit near us (we didn't do a head table or a sweetheart table) so she could still take pics of us, if needed while everyone was sitting down.

We fed the photographers, videographers, coordinator, dj, photobooth attendant, and venue owners who were on site. They got the same meal as everyone else.

ETA: our officiant didn't stay, but we tried to feed him too.

Yes definitely feed your vendors! We are feeding both of our photographers, our videographer and our DJ. Our officiant isn't staying for the reception and we have a photobooth attendant coming after dinner but other than we're feeding all our vendors. We don't want them to faint after they've been working hard for us all day! (And the other posters are right, your venue/caterer should be able to offer a vendor meal for a discounted price.)

Feed everyone. I'm guessing they get the same meal as everyone else. Officiant if they stay too.

I included my photographer, DJ, and Videographer. I think if you had a photo booth attendant they'd be included as well.

    ETA and the officiant!

Yes! They are working all day for you, you need to feed them what everyone else is eating!
