White gown to someone else's wedding!

The woman in the photo below IS NOT THE BRIDE. She just wore this FLOOR LENGTH WHITE GOWN TO A FRIEND'S WEDDING. Does anyone else find this in ridiculously poor taste ?

And that's like, white white. Not off-white, or cream, or ivory. That is as plain white as it gets. Not even a pattern to break it up at all. I would be upset for sure!!

I just feel like it's inconsiderate. Even if the bride doesn't care, why would you chance it? It's so easy to wear anything BUT a bridal looking dress.

Usually I don't care about the white thing. As long as it doesn't look like a wedding gown, whatever. But that dress looks bridal. In that photo, I would have thought she was the bride. That dress is a definite no.

I think some people are way over the top with the "it's my day, i own the color white" thing. I don't think this dress is that bad. The fact that she's standing with two bridesmaids makes it look worse. Honestly, at my wedding I probably wouldn't notice or care.

I agree that this is distasteful! I'd be a little upset.

I think this is beyond rude. The reason I think that is because I also believe that it's intentional. I could overlook something that someone could honestly not know any better about. But I can't believe anyone wouldn't know better than to wear a bridal style gown to a wedding. If you know you shouldn't and you do anyway, you are an a-hole.

Am I the only one who would be snickering at her, because all the guests would be side eyeing her, and then make sure she was obviously and purposely excluded from photos?

Of course, I would also be the one who would tell the MC to start to announce is as she walked in, the have him be all, "oh, no, sorry! False alarm! Faux bride in the house!"

I'm an asshole though. I think DF would be worse.

Geez I the first thing I thought when seeing the picture was "Is that the bride?" to find out it isn't.

In all honesty I wouldn't mind my guests wearing a white blouse/pants/a (short length) white summer dress, but if I had a guest come in a white floor length dress like the one in the picture, I'd be livid.

Its just like @MrsSasswood2016 said....yes I do get one day, and one day only...Let me have it!

I definitely thought the girl in the picture was the bride. I wouldn't have appreciated this.

A friend of mine that I have known since the 3rd grade did that at a wedding last weekend :/ It was white, lacy with cap sleeves and the length was between the ankle and knee. I know her so well that I know it is for the attention... that is just how she is. I'm hoping since my wedding is in the fall white won't be as likely of a color for her to pick. But at the end of the day.. I'm the bride and everyone will know it is my mentality! Oh and apparently FH Mom wore white to his brother's wedding! WHY!?

Hmmm... if I were say the bride's best friend or sister I would probably accidentally bump into her with my full glass of red wine. But that's just cuz I'm an asshole and don't like people who fuck with my friends.

Considering that dress can almost be considered a bridal gown, I think it's rude.

If it didn't look like a wedding dress I'd be ok with it but that looks to much like a wedding dress for my taste.

I'm usually team "guests can wear whatever they want, people know you're the bride," but this is too much and I'd be bothered. DH's aunt wore a really cute white dress to our wedding, but it was a knee length, loose, summer-y dress. I didn't mind that one bit, this girl's dress is way too bridal to be wearing as a guest.

But they say everyone will know you are the bride *rolls eyes* Unless the attire is all white then white is not an option just plain out rude
