White gown to someone else's wedding!

The woman in the photo below IS NOT THE BRIDE. She just wore this FLOOR LENGTH WHITE GOWN TO A FRIEND'S WEDDING. Does anyone else find this in ridiculously poor taste ?

Seeing this picture I would definitely assume this was the bride with her bridesmaids.

Personally I would be a little pissy if someone was to wear all white to my wedding. Would it ruin my day? No. But I would think differently (or it would confirm) of this person. Even if the bride her self told me I could wear white or wasnt wearing white I wouldnt. I would feel weird and feel uncomfortable.

*I have a question for all the brides who dont care. Would you wear all white to a wedding? (I'm not being snarky just curious)

I would be pissed. My FMIL kept trying to pick out white dresses/gowns when we went shopping for her. I made a post about and got ripped for it. Sorry, but it is so disrespectful to wear white to someone else's wedding.

This looks like bridal attire. I would be pissed because I'm NOT wearing white! Let me explain: My dress is champagne colored because I'm old, it's my second marriage and I was uncomfortable wearing white. (I am NOT putting down anyone who was an older bride in a second marriage wearing white because I'm sure they looked stunning, it's just my personal preference for me.) But if someone wore a white bridal looking dress to my wedding, I'm sure that someone would think that the young woman in white is the bride and that would piss me off. If she wants to "play bride" at my wedding, she can fork over a couple of grand and help pay for it!! Smiley smile

YES. At my friend's wedding a girl (not the bride, to be clear) wore a long white gown, which I noted as she cut me in line to sign the guest book! SMH.

That's completely intentional, which is rude and inconsiderate! That's a bitch thing to do. I honestly would be offended by her intention to be disrespectful. In my culture is a really big no no.. Little old ladies in babushkas wouldn't just side eye her they would straight up shame her enough that she would leave on her own. I've seen it before and its not pretty... eta even the men there shamed her..

If it was a short summer dress maybe I would give it a pass, but for this dress that could be considered a second dress for the bride Hell No!

That happened at my friend's wedding! A plus one of the groomsman showed up in a full length, lace, white, backless gown. Insane.

Not gonna lie, she wouldn't be staying at my wedding dressed in that. Plus she looks gorgeous unless horrible disfigured under that sticker on her face.

I bumped into a random woman at the nail salon who said she was going to a wedding that night and wearing a white dress. I advised her not too! She believed that people didn't follow that rule anymore.

I mean I love that dress but seriously? No. I thought everyone knew not to do this, it's been a rule since the beginning of time...

Yes. In my opinion that is a hideous thing to do. There are so many other colors.

Some people honestly believe that you can wear white to weddings.

My aunt mentioned she had a "cute white lace dress" she was going to wear to my wedding. I informed her that it the dress would be inappropriate. Rude on my part...probably but I dont care. I get one day to wear white.

And it isn't about someone else being mistaken for the bride. It is about respect.

And yes...anyone who chooses to wear white to my wedding may or may not have red wine spilled on them.

I really thought she was the bride. Especially posing next to bridesmaids (I'm assuming by the flower and dresses).

I'm usually in the don't care what you wear camp, but this girl is obviously trying to look like a bride, which is just kind of sad and pathetic. I wouldn't make a big deal about it, mostly because everyone would be thinking the same thing - she looks ridiculous. I sort of feel bad for her given her apparently desperate need for attention (positive or negative).
