Where did you meet your future spouse? At school? Online dating? Work? Where in the world were you?
I met my fiance in high school. I was dating someone else who was a friend of his. My ex and I broke up (big deal) so I thought he hated me like the rest of my ex's friends. Once I realized he didn't and we talked at lunch, I started to like him more more. I dated another guy and finally 1 1/2 years later finally got the courage to break that up and tell kody that I liked him. Then it's been happiness from there on.
We were introduced to each other on a group chat on Facebook by mutual friends. Our first conversation lasted hours and we haven't gone a single day without talking to each other since. We met in person a week later for our first date and it lasted 10 hours.
I met my future husband at work. At first I didn’t talk to him because I felt like I was his type but once we started talking it was literally love at first sight. I knew from the moment I met him that he was the one I wanted to spend my life with.
We met at undergraduate where we were part of a leadership team. We knew each other for about 8 years and then "re-met" at a wedding. There was a spark and decided we wanted to see if "this was a thing" or just a "we're at a wedding" moment.
The first date was me visiting his home. He cooked me dinner, and we just talked the rest of the night. He tried to convince me to sleep over (he'd take the sofa and me his bed), but I decided it wasn't *quite* the right time for it.
I totally understand that, it can be hard to let go of something that feels comfortable! I'm so glad to hear that you all were able to reconnect later and look at where you are now!
I very first met my FH at a Cub Scout Day Camp. I was running a station that all the little ones would come through and do an activity. My FH was assigned to help me since the other helper never showed up. He took one look at this "little girl" that he have to spend the next two day with and was like "NOPE! I'm hanging with my friends. BYE!" I thought he was the biggest jerk on the planet. At that time I was 13 and he was 14. If only we'd known that 14.5 years later we'd be getting married.
We met at college. He was a friend of the neighbors in our apartment complex and as soon as I saw him that was it for me. Was truly obsessed with him for a whole year (lol) but was too shy to ever say anything. I finally summoned the courage to start a real conversation with him on the first night of the semester the NEXT year and we stayed up talking until 6 am! 5 years later here we are
We met on TINDER 4 years ago! LOL! I wasn't even looking for a man, my friend had convinced me to make a Tinder account so we could share the ridiculous messages we got from guys and laugh about it (sounds kinda mean now.... but oh well). I ended up meeting my husband, and although I was hesitant at first to give him my number and eventually agree to a date months later, I'm glad I did. Who would have known he'd end up being my perfect soulmate? Turns out, we've crossed paths literally hundreds of times throughout our lives without ever knowing it despite growing up 60 miles from one another; we even graduated from the same university 1 year apart! So crazy how the universe works in such mysterious ways...
