Where did you get your wedding dress??

Amanda, on February 6, 2017 at 4:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 40

I've looked at David's Bridal but want to see more options! I just don't know where to look. I've seen so many online that I like but I don't want to buy a dress without trying it on first. Also, I really don't want to spend more than $500-600 so it kind of limits where I can look. Where did y'all get your dresses from?

I got my dress at a thrift store. I spent $50 on it. And it fits me so perfectly.

Search for other salons near you that may have sample sales or consignments shops.

Sample sales are the way to go. Check online for local boutiques in your area. They should have them advertised.

    Local bridal salon.

FB groups and marketplace always have tons of dresses too, and they're usually local so you can try them on.

Macy's Bridal Salon (which only sells Demetrios gowns). Unfortunately I don't think you'll find anything in your price range. But maybe you might get lucky during one of their sales and/or with a sample gown?

I don't know where you're located but where I am (Austin, TX) we have a second hand bridal shop. They let you sell things like centerpieces and what not and take a percentage of what you sell them for. They also buy and sell second hand wedding dresses that are in style and great condition! Maybe there's something around you like that!

I'm getting mine from a smaller boutique near my mom. I wanted to be in the same budget. My consultant was able to find me a dress from their consignment section (which they are phasing out) which fit perfectly. I was going to go with David's Bridal until I found this place. Definitely check the vendors tab on here.

I got mine from a local bridal consignment shop, brand new with tags, for less than a fifth the retail price. Definitely worth checking into resale/consignment shops in your area.

Davids bridal when they have $99 sales might be a good option. Other than that, go with what pp's said

BHLDN! It's Anthropologie's bridal shop. If you don't live near a store, you can order online, try on, and return within 30 days. They should definitely have dresses in your price range.

I went to Alfred Angelo. They have sample sales as well. I gave myself a $1500 budget. I ended up spending $1740 *insert side eye* but I think they have a wide selection. Also they have AMAZING bridesmaids dresses I thought were gorgeous enough for the bride.

I think you can find something great for your budget -- my budget was $200 and I ended up getting a dress at BHLDN (bought a gift card for $193 that had $250 on it). I stopped at Davids Bridal first but all the $99 dresses were backordered far past our wedding date so no luck there. But they had some lovely dresses for ~$400. If I was willing to spend the extra cash, I would've gotten one from there. Depends on what style you are wanting tho. Good luck!

I got mine from Alfred Angelo, it was about $1300. I did try on a few there that were much less, I think under $700 I can't remember. Depending on the style you want, look at bridesmaids dresses, they usually come in shades of white.
