Where are/did you get ready for your wedding?

The church has a bridal room which I plan to use.

Our house is an hour from our venue so that wouldn't work.

We are meeting for breakfast at the hotel, then going to the salon for hair/make up and then getting dressed in the bridal house (yes a HOUSE) at the venue. It's actually one of the things that sold me on the venue.

My parent's house.

Groom and GMs got ready in the bridal suite at our reception venue.

My parents' house for hair and makeup...I got into my dress and stuff in the bridal suite at the venue.

My dad is sponsoring a couple of hotel rooms. I wanted somewhere nice... our house is too full of animals and shared furniture to be nice.

I wanted to use my dads house but there would have been too many issues. If the house you grew up in is nice then go for it.

My parent's house and FH and groomsmen will either be at the hotel or our apartment

Our venue had brides and grooms "suites" for both of us to get ready in.

AHH! So glad you asked this question! I am having the same issue. The hotel we blocked off is about 2 miles from my parents house. I was thinking of staying in the hotel the night before to have a big suite to get ready the day of. My family is coming in from GA and will probably stay with my mom, so the thought of all the chaos at my moms house also added to my reasoning for staying at the hotel. The AC doesn't hurt either! But when I asked my mom yesterday if she was ok with me getting ready at a hotel she was hestitant..."well we dont know how many people are staying here....there could be room for you" Honestly I think its because shes worried about $. But in the grand scheme of things an extra $109 for the hotel room is NOTHING!

Let me know what you decide. I still think I'm leaning towards hotel. Plus that way my mom wont have to worry about cleaning the house for pictures and what not!

Ah good thinking... I could have the groomsmen get ready in the bridal suite.. Hopefully they clean it up though!!! LOL.

Yah.. I don't really see a downside for getting ready at my parents house.. I think I'll have to go TO a salon to get hair/makeup anyway, so it's really just putting the dress on right?

Hotel. But our venue also has a bridal suite, so we'll do any final touches in there before the ceremony.

This is a "thing" for my mom too. She's currently in the process of trying to redo the whole downstairs of their house for pictures. Her idea, not mine- so we will be getting ready at my parents house. We are staying with them right now, so FH will be staying at a hotel the night before and he and all the groomsmen will get ready there the day of and he & I will stay there the night of the wedding. Between my parents & us we have 5 dogs here.....so I have no idea how we are all going to get ready here, ugh.

I think it's sweet to get ready in her house, at least for photo-ops she'll have that, if you don't mind doing it there then I would. I would if my venue were close but I'm not sure where I'm getting married at yet so....lol

Since we are getting married as well as the reception, we will be having oot guest stay at our house, So I'm trying to talk FH into renting a cabin at the state park just so I can have a place not crowded by oot family to get ready at. And I could set it up as a bridal suite, but FH hadn't agreed. If you can't think of anything bad about your parents house then do it there. Knowing how moms are, most likely she wants to know ahead if time to make everything perfect for you.

Our house and we were thinking FH and son at in laws house but we have 1 photographer so not sure if we should have FH and son "finish" getting ready at our house so she can take pictures?

Vegas wedding... We have a suite and two women are coming to me to do my hair and makeup.

We're getting ready at a hotel next door to the venue. My parents' house and our house are both about an hour away, so it's easier. We'll be staying at the hotel after rehearsal so we're there in the morning.
