Where are you buying you unity candle?

Where are you buying your unity candle? I found some online, but you never know what they will really look like. Also, did you buy taper candles to go with it?

I looked at some on Oriental Trading, but the reviews aren't that great. And I've seen some at Michael's but I wasn't in love with them.

I bought mine at Hobby LObby during one of their 50% off sales. It was s et that came with the unity candle and two tapers. I jazzed it up by adding our monogram to the unity candle and our first initials on the tapers.

Kinda hard to see the details but you get the general idea. serenaheart this might be an option for you. i just printed the design on vellum paper and used double-sided adhesive to attach it to the candle.

I did something similar to ladylee...other then our church supplied the taper candles and the holder...so I actually went and bought just a plain white candle and decorated it...I used scrapbooking stickers and some super glue...I think it is in one of my pictures on my page

Not a forum hijack, but a related question. What do you do with the candle after the ceremony?

I purchased my candles at HobbyLobby. I didn't decorate mine b.c. I wanted the color itself to stand out. We did a rose exchange at our ceremony so that kinda added some decoration.

I bought mine off of DB website, it was an "outlet" item because they were discontinuing it in some color combinations, including my colors. I got a GREAT deal on it, $17 after tax and shipping.

I got mine at Michaels and did what LadyLee did. They turned out great. Make sure to ask your venue about them. My church called and asked if my candles were dripless and I have no idea if they are or not. So lets hope they are!

Wal-Mart & Hobby Lobby have really nice Unity Candle sets.

I've also seen them at Factory Card outlet.

But, if you're a penny pincher, like myself. You could buy the large center candle and do a DIY project with Vellum paper, and a design you like and buy 2 white tapers and put a ribbon around them.. just a thhought Smiley smile

    .

    I ain't doing a unity candle. I am doing a Sands Ceremony.
