We want to hear all about your engagement! How long ago was your proposal? Did you get engaged over the holidays?
My husband proposed on April 14, 2017 (the day after my birthday) during a surprise weekend trip he took me on to Joshua Tree! We were just ending a fun day of exploring, hiking, photographing, and off-roading in Joshua Tree National Park when we headed for Keys View to enjoy the sunset. The viewpoint was fairly crowded as it is one of the best spots in the park to watch the sun go down, so my (fiance at the time), suggest we walk down to the handicap accessible viewpoint to enjoy a more private sunset. No one else was there, it was just the two of us, together in the silence of the desert, with an amazing view out in front of us. He started saying some incredibly sweet things to me then proceeded to get down on one knee and ask me to be his wife!
We love National Parks, so it was so special to become engaged in one of our favorites. The sunset was also phenomenal that evening and the twinkling lights of Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley way down below looked like a sea of stars. I couldn't possibly have dreamed of a better proposal
(These photos make me smile so much! Taken right after he popped the question!)
We got engaged October 19th, 2018. It was a friday night and he took me out to a fancy restaurant, Lauroch's, where the food was great, candles were lit everywhere and everyone was dressed nice. He took my hand and said he'd been carrying this ring around with him for a while now, and if I would marry him? I said yes, then he leaned over to kiss me and my ring got put on! The waitress was kind enough to take a photo of us and even brought a piece of chocolate cake with a sparkler for us to celebrate!
August 25th 2018! he had the ring for a couple weeks , he had planned on asking me on my birthday but he would be gone due to work (gotta love the military) so instead of waiting till after my birthday he decided to ask me right before he left! We went up to visit his family, and our last stop was at his grandparents who have been together for 52 years! his grandparents wanted to take a picture of us! We took a couple pics but I couldn’t tell if his grandpa was actually taking them right or not and right when I was gonna go help he pulled out the ring and got down on one knee ! his grandpa was recording the whole time!
My fiance and I got engaged on August 25th, 2018. We actually picked a ring out together a few weeks before while on vacation. The ring had to be adjusted and shipped to us. I was positive it hadn't arrived yet because I kept checking to see if Ben took the documents that he needed to pick up the ring. The documents never moved. So I was definitely caught off guard when the day finally came. He knew how important it was for me to have our families with us or close to us when the time came for a proposal. We had arranged for both of our families to spend a weekend at his grandparents place to get to know each other and just spend time together. My sister in law was there to take new head shots for us (we recently moved to NY) and we decided to take a couple family pictures with our dog, Molly, out on the dock. Ben asked me to fix Molly's collar and when I did, I noticed she had a new collar with a new tag that read, "Will you spend your whole life loving me?" and on the back it said, "Just say, YES!" Just then, my best friend (who was also invited for the weekend, which truly isn't anything unusual) started playing our song from a speaker and Ben got down on one knee and said the most beautiful things. I said YES to him with the people we love most there to support us! It was a wonderful celebration! And he did an amazing job!
We got engaged 10/6/17. There was no big proposal. My father was in the hospital and we knew he wasn't going to live much longer. We went to the hospital and my fiance Brian had me leave the room to ask my Dad for his blessing. We were only able to show my dad a picture of the ring, as he passed away a few days later. Needless to say wedding planning hasn't been easy for me but I know my dad will be there in spirit.
I got engaged 8 days ago. January 3, 2019, officially engaged and December 22, 2018, gave me ring for Christmas gift. We spend together on Christmas day and new years eve to a new year day
October 2016 at a Con we were both working. She surprised me and proposed in the middle of a mini photoshoot of our debuting couple costume combo - the favorite romantic pairing from her favorite video game.
