When did you ask your bridesmaids?

I asked about 8/9 months out. I think that's a pretty good time frame!

I asked within a month of being engaged *22 months out* (prior to finding wedding wire) I had no idea you should wait til much closer to the wedding to avoid any awkward changes in relationships etc. Lucky for me majority of my wedding party is family and nothing has changed and now we are less than a year away! It worked out for me but i wouldn't recommend asking as early as i did lol.

One of my bridesmaids actually asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding which is the last weekend of August 2017, a couple weeks ago! I think once you have major details locked down, dates times colors theme I would ask!

I asked my after we had planned on getting married so it was like 4 months ago all of my BM are my friends and family

I asked mine about 10 months out, so a little early and I ended up having one bridesmaid go MIA so I suggest taking from my mistake and waiting a little longer

I think the rule of thumb is like 8-9 months out, but I asked mine at like 10-11 months out.

I officially asked about 8 months out, though a few of them knew they were going to be in the bridal party before that.

Luckily I waited, because if I had asked at the year mark I would have had to deal with some serious drama.

I'm getting married next September and getting married out of state as well. I asked this past September, giving them a year in advance notice.

I'm not planning on asking mine until January of 2018, but one is my sister and one is my friend of more than 15 years so I may unofficially ask them earlier.

I actually asked mine by incorporating my STDs a few weeks before I actually sent them out to everyone else, so almost exactly 6 months before the wedding.

I asked mine formally with little gifts about 13 months out. I have 3 out of state bridesmaids and 1 out of country so I wanted them to have as much time as possible to plan and budget for the big day
