What's the most expensive item on your registry?

Hi all ! As I'm casually adding to our registry, I realized I REALLY want a luggage set. I have the same suitcase I had since college and the handle is broken. The wheels on my carry one are falling apart. There are stains. Etc. Needless to say, I fell in love with a Samsonite set on BBB.... only...

Hi all !

As I'm casually adding to our registry, I realized I REALLY want a luggage set. I have the same suitcase I had since college and the handle is broken. The wheels on my carry one are falling apart. There are stains. Etc. Needless to say, I fell in love with a Samsonite set on BBB.... only problem is that it's about $470. Is that ridiculous to add?

Also, for luggage sets do you share that with your husband, or do you each get your own set?

Thanks in advance!!

@JPCD it's a stuffed animal! Like one of those ride on ones they have at the mall. I would never use or want a real animal of any kind at my wedding, but especially a hippo! Even though hippos are my fav animal, a real life hippo would go berserk and kill people at my wedding and that's a no for me. I'm anti-circus and sea world, etc. using real animals is not my thing.

Like this: https://www.ebay.com/i/291235599997?chn=ps&dispItem=1 Should have registered for this one, it's almost $200 cheaper than the one I picked!

Register for it, as long as you have cheaper stuff too! People will split gifts, keep in mind. We registered for a KitchenAid mixer with an ice cream attachment and other attachment. I'm not sure what the total cost was but probably in the $450-$500 range, and a portion of FH's family all split it for our wedding shower. In total there are 28 signatures on the card and I believe we have to send 18 thank you cards to cover each house hold that contributed, haha.

Definitely just add it - doesn't mean anyone needs to purchase it! Our most expensive item is an All-Clad Stainless Cookware set that was given to us as a gift at my bridal shower. We still have 2 items that are pretty expensive (around $400) for the wedding - a Vitamix and a knife set. We're not expecting to receive them, but are leaving them as an option for people who want to do a group gift, or someone who wants to spend that much.

My Vitamix and Kitchenaid Mixer. They will be mine whether someone buys them or not because I will buying them if they are not given as gifts. They are the only 2 kitchen appliances I have lusted over for years.

As guests - my family loves to give group gifts for showers. We're always a little sad when there isn't a higher ticket item - it's kind of crappy for my mom, sister and I to buy like 10 things from your registry to spend the amount we wanted to give you - when really, we just wanted to give you something nice. Having a luggage set, stroller, pan set, etc for wedding or baby registry allows people to group gift as they see fit (and it's so much easier to just pick out one thing). So I say - go for it either in pieces or together.

Put it on your registry. There could be a guest who doesn't mind paying that price

Good -- well, better than our current ones -- knives for about $150. Debating on the kitchen aid...or a dyson. I was totally aiming cheaper but the extra percentage off for unclaimed items may be enough for me to add them.

We have a varying list. Some things are a couple dollars, others are expensive, it ranges from $4 items to the large item which is $600(or more depending on the size). The large item we registered for is a patio set for our home. We bought the house 2 years ago. We added a garden last year, next year we are adding a paver patio and want to have a set to go on it. If not it will be one of the things we buy for ourselves next spring. I don't actually expect anyone to purchase it, but if they do, there's going to be a bottle of wine with their thank you card.

Its a pipe dream, but one can hope.

As for the luggage, we generally have our own but it depends on the trip we are taking. We do each have our own sets. Last years prime day had a few good luggage sales so FH bought his own.
