What's the most expensive item on your registry?

Hi all ! As I'm casually adding to our registry, I realized I REALLY want a luggage set. I have the same suitcase I had since college and the handle is broken. Hi all !

As I'm casually adding to our registry, I realized I REALLY want a luggage set. I have the same suitcase I had since college and the handle is broken. The wheels on my carry one are falling apart. There are stains. Etc. Needless to say, I fell in love with a Samsonite set on BBB.... only problem is that it's about $470. Is that ridiculous to add?

Also, for luggage sets do you share that with your husband, or do you each get your own set?

Thanks in advance!!

Luggage set for like, $400. And on our other registry, a Le Creuset French Oven that was $300. 2 of my aunts bought us the French oven and split the cost.

Like others said, as long as you have a decent spread of prices, it's fine. And our one registry is at Macy's and they have sales all the time, so I didn't feel as awful putting the luggage set on there.

DH's office co-workers all contributed and bought us one of the more expensive gifts on our registry. My grandparents told us (before we registered) that they wanted to buy us the coffee machine that we had been talking about (months prior, and not as a hint or anything, just conversationally). That was the most expensive gift that we received.

I think as long as there is a good balance of affordable items, there is no problem with registering for more expensive gifts. For example, I would spend a lot more on my brother's wedding gift than I would for a friend.

If I see an expensive item on a registry, I wouldn't think twice about it or judge the person in any way. Unless there were ONLY expensive items.

For our more expensive items we registered for a cheaper alternative as well. I registered for both a down and a down alternative comforter so maybe you could register for the expensive luggage as well as a cheaper set you like. Then after my shower, I went back into my registrys and took off the extra items so I wouldn't get the other one as a wedding gift. I had registered for 2 sets of 4 nice wine glasses and my aunt saw them on the registry and bought me 2 sets of 12 wine glasses for the same price because she thought they were a better value. So someone might pick something similar to the set you want that's more in their budget.

We pieced put a pot set (would have been $899) so I guess technically that was the most expensive. By piecing it out we actually got all but one pot/pan at this point. The most expensive one item was a $500 set of knives. My aunt and gram got them for us and I've never been more excited to cute with knives that actually work. Our old ones were and are total crap, my new butter knife cuts better than those.

A $400 vacuum is the most expensive thing on ours. We registered just for one set of luggage, figured we can pack light (we will see how this goes lol). I agree with others who said that if possible, register for the individual pieces separately as people are more likely to get one item at $250 than the whole thing

We had a $600 cookware set which was one of the first things bought. We received it at our first shower as a combined shower & wedding gift!

Mine is $1,500 dining room table. I know I know. It's a group gift and I don't expect to get it fully paid for but I figure, the answer's always no until you ask...

I think you can share the luggage if you don't need all of the pieces for one trip. My FH and I can share because I use the large suitcase and he uses the smaller because he's a guy lol also most expensive thing on mine so far is our cookware and kitchenaid stand mixer which can be between $300-600..

My FMIL really wanted me to register for a nice piece of furniture from Crate&Barrel that their family could all chip in for. I would love to have a nice couch and build around that with DIY project thrift store finds. So I have a $2500 sofa on mine.

We registered for a $500 grill expecting to buy it at the end with the completion discount, but my mom's cousin and wife bought it for us. I would register for it, as long as you have a varying set of price points you'll be fine!

The most expensive thing was a $300 Breville food processor at BB&B. No one bought it for us, but we just ordered it with some of the money given to us at the wedding. We were able to get a 20% completion discount, which was pretty awesome considering that you can't use BB&B coupons on Breville products. We also registered for a Calphalon cookware set that was just under $300 on Amazon, and someone did buy that for us. You never know, and it's great to have the completion discount!

We each registered for a $300 backpacking backpack. We love to hike and camp and want to get into backpacking. We thought no one would buy them, but my FH's parents offered to get FH his for his upcoming birthday if he'd like, so now we have 1/2.

We each own our own luggage. We tend to pack separately for trips, because any trips we've taken are either short enough we can each just use a carry on, or long enough we each needed a full large suitcase.
