What was your first wedding planning decision?

For us it was deciding on having a fall wedding. We considered having it last summer, but finances weren't there and we bother prefer fall anyway

Our first wedding planning decision was agreeing on our wedding date. That day is special to us since it's our anniversary.

I think the first decision we made was a rough guest list

Our (two) dates. We wanted to get legally married on our 8 year anniversary, but it’s a Tuesday so it’s going to just be us two and our witnesses. And then we chose our formal wedding date right after that.

Ours was the venue. We made that decision a week later

The venue was first, then the date.

Our first decision was our reception and ceremony venues, we knew we would have to book fast in order to get the places we wanted on our date.

The first decisions we made was the date and the colors we wanted to use!

It was the number of guests and budget for us. Everything else flowed from there.

Our first decision was the wedding budget. We decided what we could both realistically save up and afford, and then started looking at vendors accordingly.

Officially?

The ceremony venue. Fiance is Catholic and his home parish is nearby, so he made it clear loooooooooooong before we were engaged that he wanted to get married there.

Since we've been engaged?

...My dress. Found it at a pop-up sale for $200 a week after we got engaged. Couldn't pass up the savings.

We still don't have a budget or a venue or even a very firm date (other than a target).

I have never in my life done things the expected way.
