What was the first thing you purchased for your big day?

We actually booked our photographer before anything else!

I'm having such a hard time deciding on one

We are doing a destination wedding in Florida where my FH's parents live. We knew we were going down in a couple months to get all the big stuff booked and wanted to secure a photographer for engagement pictures for when we were down there. We probably looked for two weeks before booking one. The next thing we booked was our venue.

Venue then bridesmaid proposal cards. I think after that it was easy, DJ then photographer. We have everything booked but videographer if we decide to have one.

My FH booked a guy from facebook for our engagement photos. He liked his work a lot and I do too. He says he's going to ask him about wedding photos when we go take our engagement photos. I would prefer for him to ask him ahead of time but since this is a job my FH decided he wanted to take on for our wedding then I'm trying to be quiet and step back so he doesn't feel like I don't trust him to get the job done.

Our first thing was the venue. I had the same mind set as you. The part that sucks is the lack of communication with our potential caterer.

Aside from bridesmaids proposals - I think the first item we bought for the wedding was our guestbook.

Luckily my aunt has experience in wedding planning. She's pretty much took the wheel so far.

I'm always so concerned with the big things if I don't slow down I'm going to forget things like a guestbook. Thanks for reminding me to add that to my list.

I plan to go look for my wedding dress this weekend

I hate lack of communication when it comes to vendors. It makes me nervous.
