What was the first thing you purchased for your big day?

We booked venues and officiant before anything else. But the first thing we actually spent money on was a portable popup gazebo. I replaced the fabric on it with a cover I sewed myself to make the chuppah (Jewish wedding canopy) shown in my icon.

Just looked through your pictures you did a great job

The first thing I bought were these little heart shaped pieces of paper with love quotes on them, because Ive always planned on incorporating paper weddings for my bookish wedding. The first big thing was my dress, and then 2 days later my venue (I knew before buying my dress that we were getting this venue. We just hadn’t paid for it yet)

If I remember correctly, I bought a large fabric backdrop with our names from Etsy!

Dress then venue (even though it’s free) and after that everything else followed right into place now Ware just 5 months away ahhh!

My first purchase was my wedding dress, it was right after I toured the venue we ended up choosing.

💐s I believe because they were clearanced for $2 on Afloral, but $32 on Etsy.

That’s not true. I had purchased items in my primary Wedding color with my Mom YEARS ago. This was due to her advising me to “Buy it when you see it, because it won’t be there when you go back for it”.

I’m so glad that I did. There were so many reminders of her in the room as a result.

The venue! Next up, the DJ, photographer and the flower girl dress. My wedding is 11/07/20. I go dress shopping 11/16 on my birthday. 🥰

My Bridesmaids Proposals, Then Venue the my Dresses now their Dresses

I'm stalled but first thing was Baker then DJ. I can't make up my mind on venue since we both live in Dallas and the wedding will be in Saint Louis my home town.

My first thing was the venue, then my dress. We're having a hard time finding caterers that won't charge us more than the venue for food, a photographer who won't mind leaving after the cake cutting, and a DJ that won't break the bank. Who knew it would be so hard to get married on a budget?
